Ami Foster
Ami Foster is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Margaux Kramer in the TV series ''Punky Brewster''. Biography Foster, a native of California, won the National Tap Dance Championship after which she was discovered on ''Star Search'' as a singer at age eight. In 1984, Foster landed her most notable role, in the NBC series ''Punky Brewster'' as Margaux Kramer, the spoiled upper class friend of the title character. During the run of ''Punky Brewster'', Foster appeared on ''Circus of the Stars''; she shared an act with actor-musician Corey Yothers, whose sister Tina (of ''Family Ties'' fame) was also featured that year in ''COTS.'' Following the end of ''Punky Brewster'' in 1988, Foster appeared in various guest roles: on ''The Wonder Years'', ''Quantum Leap,'' and '' Life Goes On''. "Amy Foster" is a short story by Joseph Conrad written in 1901, first published in the ''Illustrated London News'' (December 1901), and collected in ''Typhoon and Other Stories'' (1903). Plot A poor emigrant from Central Europe sailing from Hamburg to America is shipwrecked off the coast of England. The residents of nearby villages, at first unaware of the sinking, and hence of the possibility of survivors, regard him as a dangerous tramp and madman. He speaks no English; his strange foreign language frightens them, and they offer him no assistance. ''This Is America, Charlie Brown'' is an eight-part animated television miniseries that depicts a series of events in American history featuring characters from the Charles M. Schulz comic strip ''Peanuts''. It aired from 1988 to 1989 on CBS. The first four episodes aired as a weekly series in October and November 1988; the final four episodes aired monthly from February to May 1989. ''CBS Summer Playhouse'' is an American anthology series that ran from June 12, 1987 to August 22, 1989 on CBS. It aired unsold television pilots during the summer season. Overview Tim Reid and Daphne Maxwell Reid acted as hosts during the first season, introducing each pilot. Viewers were also encouraged to call a 1-800 number at the end of each episode, to voice their preference. However, the "winning" pilot chosen by the viewers was never picked up as a series. The series was revamped during the second and third seasons, and featured no hosts or viewer voting. ''It's Punky Brewster'' is a 1985–1986 animated spin-off of the live action television sitcom ''Punky Brewster''. It was animated by Ruby-Spears Productions. The show uses the same premise and main cast as its parent series, but also includes a magical sprite named Glomer. 26 episodes were produced over two seasons.
