The American University of Science and Technology (AUST) (french: link=no, Université américaine de sciences et technologie; ar, link=no, الجامعة الأميركية للعلوم والتكنولوجيا) is a private, non-sectarian, and co-educational American university in Lebanon. It was established in 1989 in Beirut, under the name of the ''American Universal College'' of Decree Number 4897, as an External Degree Program from the State University of New York, through its School for Graduate Studies, Empire State College, in the state of New York, United States. However, in 2000, it became a private, non-sectarian and co-educational institution of higher learning licensed by the Lebanese Presidential Decree of Number 3585. Bekaa
The Beqaa Valley ( ar, links=no, وادي البقاع, ', Lebanese ), also transliterated as Bekaa, Biqâ, and Becaa and known in classical antiquity as Coele-Syria, is a fertile valley in eastern Lebanon. Achrafieh ( ar, الأشرفية) is an upper-class area in eastern Beirut, Lebanon. In strictly administrative terms, the name refers to a sector (''secteur'') centred on Sassine Square, the highest point in the city, as well as a broader quarter (''quartier''). Boutros Harb (بطرس حرب) (born 3 August 1944) is a Lebanese politician who served at different cabinet posts including Minister of Telecommunications. Early life and education Harb was born into a Maronite family in Tannourine, Lebanon on 3 August 1944. He holds a law degree. Alfred Georges Naccache (or Naqqache) ( ar, ألفرد جورج النقاش; 3 May 1888– 26 September 1978) was a Lebanese Maronite statesman, Prime Minister and head of state during the French Mandate of Lebanon. In 1919 he contributed to '' La Revue Phénicienne'' which was established by Charles Corm in Beirut. He was serving as Prime Minister when he was appointed president by the French authorities after the resignation of Emile Edde.
