Alvin Eli Amason
Alvin Eli Amason (born 1948) is a Sugpiaq Alaskan painter and sculptor. He was raised in Kodiak and is of Alutiiq ancestry. He received his Master of Fine Arts from Arizona State University and taught for several years at Navajo Community College. For seventeen years, he taught at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and was the head of the Alaska Native Art studies program there. After retiring, he was asked to join the Department of Art at the University of Alaska, Anchorage and develop an Alaska Native Art curriculum. Amason was raised by his grandfather, a bear guide. He considered other careers, including engineering, before becoming an artist and sculptor. In 1973, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Washington University and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University in 1976. Amason Kingi Jeffah is the current Speaker of the Senate of Kenya. He is the immediate former governor of Kilifi County and belongs to the Pamoja African Alliance. Before his term as governor of Kilifi, Amason was elected to represent the Magarini Constituency in the National Assembn marc 2022 when covid hit the country he took a step in proctecting constincies against pandem to help set up isolation centre in kilifi countyly of Kenya during the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. Amason is a Swedish musical band made up of vocalist Amanda Bergman (also known as Hajen, Jaw Lesson, and Idiot Wind); guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Gustav Ejstes (from Dungen); keyboardist Pontus Winnberg (from Miike Snow and Bloodshy & Avant); drummer Nils Törnqvist (from Little Majorette); and bassist Petter Winnberg (from Little Majorette). Amason was formed in December 2012 and released their self-titled EP in August 2013, via Stockholm-based label Ingrid. In January 2015, the band issued their debut album, ''Sky City'', with lyrics in both English and Swedish. In October of the same year, they released their second EP, ''Flygplatsen'', with songs in Swedish exclusively. In 2016, they published the EP ''California Airport Love'', which includes the English version of "Flygplatsen" as well as a cover of Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is" and The Mamas & the Papas' "California Dreamin".
