Alice (1984 Album)
''Alice'' is a compilation album of recordings by Italian singer-songwriter Alice, released by CGD in 1984. The ''Alice'' compilation was released by Warner Music's Italian sublabel CGD after Alice had signed with EMI and had had her commercial breakthrough after winning the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Per Elisa" in 1981. The twelve track set comprises material recorded for the CBS Records label for the albums ''La mia poca grande età'' and '' Cosa resta... Un fiore'' under her then stage name Alice Visconti, originally issued in 1975 and 1977 respectively. ''Alice'' was first released on vinyl in 1984, re-released on CD in 1988 and remains in print. The ''Alice'' compilation is not to be confused with a similar eponymously titled compilation released by EMI in 1986. Alice (Italian Singer)
Carla Bissi, known professionally as Alice or Alice Visconti (; born 26 September 1954), is an Italian singer-songwriter and pianist who began her career in the early 1970s. After releasing three albums by the end of the decade, her breakthrough came in 1981 when she won the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Per Elisa". This was followed by European hit singles like "Una notte speciale", "Messaggio", "Chan-son Egocentrique", "Prospettiva Nevski" and "Nomadi" and albums like '' Gioielli rubati'', '' Park Hotel'', '' Elisir'', and ''Il sole nella pioggia'' which charted in Continental Europe, Scandinavia, and Japan. ''Falsi allarmi'' is the sixth studio album by the Italian singer-songwriter Alice, released in 1983 by EMI Music. The album includes the single releases "Il profumo del silenzio", "Carthago", "Solo un'dea" and "Notte a Roma". After the chart success of the duet "Zu Nah Am Feuer" with the German singer Stefan Waggershausen in early 1984, the album was re-released in West Germany, Switzerland and Austria in spring that year with the duet added as a bonus track, placed as track B5. The Benelux editions of the re-release instead included the English-language version "Close to the Fire". In 2003, "Zu Nah Am Feuer" was included on Waggershausen's compilation ''Duette & Balladen''. After Alice's participation in the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest with another duet, "I treni di Tozeur" with Franco Battiato, ''Falsi allarmi'' was again re-released in the Benelux, and again with this bonus track as B5. ''Gioielli rubati– Alice canta Battiato'' is the seventh studio album by Italian singer-songwriter Alice, released in 1985 on EMI Music. History The album, whose title translates as ''Stolen Jewels – Alice sings Battiato'', followed the highly successful 1984 single and Eurovision Song Contest entry "I treni di Tozeur", a duet with the composer. ''Gioielli rubati'' includes songs from Battiato's pop albums ''L'era del cinghiale bianco'' (1979), '' Patriots'' (1980), ''La voce del padrone'' (1981), '' L'arca di Noè'' (1982) and '' Orizzonti perduti'' (1983). Cosa Resta
Cosa was a Latin colony founded in southwestern Tuscany in 273 BC, on land confiscated from the Etruscans, to solidify the control of the Romans and offer the Republic a protected port. The Etruscan site (called ''Cusi'' or ''Cosia'') may have been where modern Orbetello stands; a fortification wall in polygonal masonry at Orbetello's lagoon may be in phase with the walls of Cosa. The position of Cosa is distinct, rising some 113 metres above sea level and is sited 140 km northwest of Rome on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast, on a hill near the small town of Ansedonia. The town experienced a hard life and was never truly a prosperous Roman city, although it has assumed a position of prominence in Roman archaeology owing to the circumstances of its excavation (cf.
