Alex Redmond (American Football)
Alex Edward Redmond (born January 18, 1995) is an American football offensive guard who is a free agent. He played college football at UCLA. Early years Redmond played high school football at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California. He also lettered three years in wrestling at Los Alamitos, becoming the first wrestling state finalist in school history. College career Redmond played for the UCLA Bruins of the University of California, Los Angeles from 2013 to 2015. He started all 13 games at right guard in 2013, tying the school record for most single-season starts by a true freshman position player. He earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 honors in 2013. Redmond was also named a First Team Freshman All-American by the Sporting News, Athlon Sports and the Football Writers Association of America. Non-football injury and non-football illness (NFI) are roster designations used in the National Football League (NFL) for players who are unable to practice as a result of conditions unrelated to football, or injuries that did not occur during NFL games or practices. They are similar to the physically unable to perform and injured reserve lists. Active/NFI Players who report to training camp injured or ill due to injuries or illnesses sustained outside of NFL practices or games can be placed on the active/non-football injury or active/non-football illness lists while they recover. A player cannot remain on an NFI list if they participate in a practice or game during the preseason. Players on these lists still count towards the 90-man roster limits prior to the start of the regular season. The 2016 NFL Draft was the 81st annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players.
