Alberto is the Romance version of the Latinized form (''Albertus'') of Germanic ''Albert''. It is used in Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. The diminutive forms are ''Albertito'' in Spain or ''Albertico'' in some parts of Latin America, Albertino in Italian as well as ''Tuco'' as a hypocorism. It derives from the name Adalberto which in turn derives from '' Athala'' (meaning noble) and ''Berth'' (meaning bright). Romance Languages
The Romance languages, sometimes referred to as Latin languages or Neo-Latin languages, are the various modern languages that evolved from Vulgar Latin. They are the only extant subgroup of the Italic languages in the Indo-European language family. The five most widely spoken Romance languages by number of native speakers are Spanish (489 million), Portuguese (283 million), French (77 million), Italian (67 million) and Romanian (24 million), which are all national languages of their respective countries of origin. By most measures, Sardinian and Italian are the least divergent from Latin, while French has changed the most. However, all Romance languages are closer to each other than to classical Latin. Alberto Airola (born 13 May 1970) is an Italian politician for the Five Star Movement. Early life Airola was born in Moncalieri, south of Turin in Piedmont. Political career Airola was elected to the Italian Senate in the 2013 general election. Airola became new leader of the 5 Star Movement in the Senate on 15 October 2014, taking over from Vito Rosario Petrocelli. Alberto Contador Velasco (; born 6 December 1982) is a Spanish former professional cyclist. Alberto Clò (born 1947) is an Italian businessman, politician and academic. He served as minister of industry from 1995 to 1996. He was the director of Eni SpA. Alberto Cianca (1884–1966) was an Italian journalist and anti-fascist politician. He edited several significant publications, including '' Il Mondo'', and served in the Parliament and Senate. Alberto de Almeida Cavalcanti (February 6, 1897 – August 23, 1982) was a Brazilian-born film director and producer. He was often credited under the single name "Cavalcanti". Early life Cavalcanti was born in Rio de Janeiro, the son of a prominent mathematician. He was a precociously intelligent child and, by the age of 15, was studying law at university, but was expelled following an argument with a professor. Alberto Jonathan Campbell-Staines (born 27 June 1993) is an Australian athlete with an intellectual disability who competes in the T20 classification. He won two bronze medals at the 9th INAS Athletics World Championships. Personal Campbell was born in Kingston, Jamaica on 27 June 1993. He was born prematurely and at three months was sent to the state-run orphanage in Kingston, where he suffered from neglect and malnutrition. Alberto Bustani Adem (born in Mexico City, 1954) is a Mexican academic and entrepreneur of Lebanese descent ( Boustani). Elder son of Antonio Bustani and Alicia Adem. Alberto Beneduce (29 May 1877 – 26 April 1944) was an Italian politician, scholar and financier, who was among the founders of many significant state-run finance institutions in Italy. Early life and education Beneduce was born in Caserta on 29 March 1877. He earned a mathematics degree from the University of Naples. Career and views Beneduce was a socialist and was a leading member of the Italian Reformist Socialist Party.
