In Islam, the ''ulama'' (; ar, علماء ', singular ', "scholar", literally "the learned ones", also spelled ''ulema''; feminine: ''alimah'' ingularand ''aalimath'' lural are the guardians, transmitters, and interpreters of religious knowledge in Islam, including Islamic doctrine and law. Al-Qastallani
Shihāb al-Dīn Abu'l-‘Abbās Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr al-Qasṭallānī al-Qutaybī al-Shāfi‘ī ( ar, أحمد بن محمد ابن أبي بكر ابن عبد الملك بن أحمد بن حسين بن علي القسطلاني المصري الشافعي), also known as Al-Qasṭallānī was a Sunni Islamic scholar who specialized in hadith and theology. He owed his literary fame mainly to his exhaustive commentary on the Sahih al-Bukhari entitled ''Irshād al-Sarī fī Sharḥ al-Bukhārī''. Life He was married to 'Aishah al-Ba'uniyyah. He was a contemporary of Suyuti, and between the two there were several scholarly challenges, Arabic: 'Khusumat'. The subject of the arguments were focused on al-Qasṭallānī's Shaykh al-Sakhawi, but eventually al-Qasṭallānī went to Suyuti to apologize. Muhammad Al-Zurqani
Muhammad al-Zurqani (1645–1710 CE ) ( ar, محمد الزرقاني) was a Sunni Maliki Islamic scholar. Yusuf An-Nabhani
Yusuf bin Ismail bin Yusuf bin Ismail bin Muhammad Nâsir al-Dîn an-Nabhani (1849–1932) born in Ijzim in Palestine, was a Palestinian Sunni Islamic scholar, judge, prolific poet, and defender of the Ottoman Caliphate. He died in Beirut. Biography Many of Yusuf al-Nabahani's poems, books, and teachings have remained, but very little is printed about his personal life and activities. He worked and campaigned against the Wahhabi movement and the reformers in Cairo like Muhammad Abduh and al-Afghani who were changing Sunni Islam. He believed in the law, or Shariah in restricting all Sufi activity, being of the Shafi madhab or thought of Sunni Islam holding a similar stance to al- Ghazali in his later years on Sufism. His father Ismail al-Nabhani taught him to memorise the Quran at a young age, taught him the sciences of Islamic jurisprudence and then sent him to begin study at the university of al-Azhar Cairo on 16 May 1866 at the age of 17.
