Adventures Of Casanova
''Adventures of Casanova'' is a 1948 American-Mexican historical adventure film directed by Roberto Gavaldón and starring Arturo de Córdova Lucille Bremer and Turhan Bey. It portrays a fictional version of the story of Casanova, and was intended to capitalize on the success of the Errol Flynn film ''The Adventures of Don Juan'' which was released the same year after a long production process.Richards p.121 It is set in Sicily in the 1790s, with Casanova as a freedom fighter battling against the King's local governor Count de Brissac, who unknown to the monarch, is acting as a tyrant. Roberto Gavaldón
Roberto Gavaldón (June 7, 1909 in Jiménez, Chihuahua – September 4, 1986 in Mexico City) was a Mexican film director. Eight of Gavaldón's films were featured on the list 100 Best Movies of the Cinema of Mexico. His 1958 film ''Ash Wednesday'' was entered into the 8th Berlin International Film Festival and his 1959 film ''Beyond All Limits'' was entered into the following years festival. His 1960 film '' Macario'' was entered into the 1960 Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. ''Adventures of Don Juan'' is a 1948 American Technicolor swashbuckling adventure romance film directed by Vincent Sherman and starring Errol Flynn and Viveca Lindfors, with Robert Douglas, Alan Hale, Ann Rutherford, and Robert Warwick. Miroslava (actress)
Miroslava Šternová Beková (26 February – 9 March 1955), known professionally as Miroslava Stern, was a Czechoslovak-Mexican actress. Biography Born Miroslava Šternová Beková in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Miroslava moved to Mexico as a child with her mother and adoptive Jewish father in 1941, seeking to escape war in their native country. After winning a national beauty contest, Miroslava began to study acting. She worked steadily in films produced in Mexico, from 1946 to 1955, as well as three Hollywood films during that period. Miroslava filmed '' Ensayo de un crimen'' (The Criminal Life of Archibaldo de la Cruz) in 1955, directed by Luis Buñuel. Nestor Paiva (June 30, 1905 – September 9, 1966) was an American actor of Portuguese descent. He is most famous for his recurring role of Teo Gonzales the innkeeper in Walt Disney's Spanish Western series ''Zorro'' and its feature film ''The Sign of Zorro'', as well as Lucas the boat captain in ''Creature from the Black Lagoon'' and its sequel ''Revenge of the Creature''. Fritz Leiber (actor)
Fritz Reuter Leiber Sr. (January 31, 1882 – October 14, 1949) was an American actor. A Shakespearean actor on stage, he also had a successful career in film. He was the father of science fiction and fantasy writer Fritz Leiber Jr., who was also an actor for a time. Life Leiber was born in Chicago, the son of Meta (Klett) and Albrecht Leiber. His father was from Baden Baden and his mother was from Mecklenburg. Leiber was based in Chicago for most of his pre-Hollywood career. He married Virginia Bronson (1885–1970), who like him was a Shakespearean performer. Leiber died, in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, from a heart attack at the age of 67. Lloyd Corrigan (October 16, 1900 – November 5, 1969) was an American film and television actor, producer, screenwriter, and director who began working in films in the 1920s. Noreen Nash (born Norabelle Jean Roth; April 4, 1924) is an American retired film and television actress. In the beginning of her career, she had uncredited parts at MGM. John Sutton (22 October 1908 – 10 July 1963) was a British actor with a prolific career in Hollywood of more than 30 years. Personal life Sutton was born in Rawalpindi, India (now Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan). He was the son of Lt. Colonel Arthur Congdon (1861-1924) of the Royal Munster Fusiliers and his wife Ann Bell Sutton Moxley Congdon.
