Adhikari (Devanāgarī: अधिकारी, Sinhala: අදිකාරී) (also spelled Adhikary or Adhicary) belongs to Brahmins and Rajput caste native to the Indian subcontinent, mainly found in Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka.Adhikari of Kumaon region of Uttarakhand are Rajputs,but it also depends on region. Another regions, majorly West Bengal, Adhikari are Brahmins. It is found among several groups including Bengalis, Biharis, Sinhalese, Marathis, Nepalese and Kumaonis. Gangadhar Adhikari
Dr. Gangadhar Adhikari (8 December 1898 – 21 November 1981) was a prominent Marxist theoretician and prolific writer as well as one of the main apologists for Islamist separatism in India. He was the former general secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), one of the oldest political parties in India. He was a chemical scientist who earned his Ph.D. degree in Berlin in 1927. Biography Early life Gangadhar Moreshwar Adhikari was born on 8 December 1898 in Panvel, Colaba district, near Mumbai. His grandfather was a small landlord in Ratnagiri, but losing property, became a clerk in district collector’s office. Adhikari’s father shifted to Bombay, living in a chawl. Man Mohan Adhikari (Magi) ( ne, मन मोहन अधिकारी 9 June 1920 – 26 April 1999) was the 31st Prime Minister of Nepal from 1994 to 1995, representing the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist). He is the first communist Prime Minister in Nepal and one of the first communist politician in the world to be democratically elected as a head of government. Colonel Hemchandra "Hemu" Ramachandra Adhikari (31 July 1919 – 25 October 2003) was an Indian cricketer, representing his country as both a player and a coach in a career that spanned three decades. Life and career A talented right-handed batsman and occasional leg spin bowler, he made his first-class cricket debut as a teenager before the outbreak of World War II in the 1936/37 domestic season. Bharat Mohan Adhikari
Bharat Mohan Adhikari ( ne, :ne:भरतमोहन अधिकारी, भरतमोहन अधिकारी) (4 May 1936 – 2 March 2019) was a Nepali politician and freedom fighter. He became the Ministry of Finance (Nepal), Minister of Finance of Nepal in the Adhikari cabinet, 1994, 1994-95 government of Prime Minister Man Mohan Adhikari. He was the first communist Finance Minister who championed the "Afno Gaun Afai Banau" (; Develop our own village) campaign. He also served as the deputy prime minister of Nepal in the Deuba cabinet (2004–05), which was later dissolved by King Gyanendra. Although a central figure of the CPN-UML, he was considered to have held more moderate views. Deepak Adhikari (born 25 December 1982), known by his stage name Dev, is an Indian actor, producer, singer and film writer, known for his works in Tollywood, and more recently, a politician. He owns the production house Dev Entertainment Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Born in Keshpur, he made his acting debut in the 2006 film '' Agnishapath'' opposite Rachna Banerjee.
