Adanaspor Footballers
Adanaspor is a Turkish professional football club based in Adana, currently performing at the TFF First League. The club is founded in 1954 by the middle-class merchants and artisans in response to the alienation within city's then most popular club, Adana Demirspor, who were supported by workers, financed by landowners and governed by TCDD staff. Having played their first game in 1956 and became known as Adana derby, both clubs compete for the citywide support and domination since then. Taurus Mountains
The Taurus Mountains ( Turkish: ''Toros Dağları'' or ''Toroslar'') are a mountain complex in southern Turkey, separating the Mediterranean coastal region from the central Anatolian Plateau. The system extends along a curve from Lake Eğirdir in the west to the upper reaches of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers in the east. It is a part of the Alpide belt in Eurasia. 2009–10 TFF First League
The 2009–10 TFF First League (also known as ''Bank Asya First League'' due to sponsoring reasons) is the 47th season of the second-level football league of Turkey since its establishment in 1963–64. Teams 2008–09 TFF First League champions Manisaspor, runners-up Diyarbakırspor and play-off winners Kasımpaşa were promoted to the 2009–10 Süper Lig. They were replaced by Konyaspor, Kocaelispor and Hacettepe, who ended the 2008–09 season in the bottom three places of the standings. Sakaryaspor, Güngören Belediyespor and Malatyaspor were relegated to the Second League after finishing in the last three spots of the 2008–09 First League season standings. Çukurova, Adana
Çukurova is a ilçe, district in the Adana Province of Turkey. District population of 389,000, is concentrated within the city of Adana, occupying north-west of the city. It is a modern residential district which came into being in the last 30 years as the city expanded north. Karaisalı
Karaisalı is a small town and a district in Adana Province of Turkey, administratively a part of the Metropolitan Municipality of Adana. The area contains the reservoirs of Çatalan and Nergizlik. There is a wrestling tournament in late-April to early-May at Salbaş and a countryside festival in the last week of August at Kızıldağ. History In Greek and Roman times there was a town here named Midelle. Throughout history, the town was controlled by several kingdoms, such as Seljuk Empire and Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia. Following the arrival of the Turkish population in the area the name was changed to Çeceli and inhabited by the Yüreğir and Menemencioğulları and Ramazanoğulları tribes. Adana 5 Ocak Stadium
The Adana 5 Ocak Fatih Terim Stadium ( tr, Adana 5 Ocak Stadı) was a multi-purpose stadium in Adana, Turkey. It was opened in 1938, together with the Menderes Sports Hall and Gençlik Stadium as a sports complex, at the new neighborhood of Reşatbey. The stadium holds 16,095, with a large East and West stands and much smaller North and South stands. It abided UEFA standards for hosting Europa League games and TFF standards for hosting Super Lig games. The stadium was demolished in late 2021. The stadium was used mostly for football matches, in which it used to be the home ground of Adana Demirspor and Adanaspor until the inauguration of New Adana Stadium in 2021.
