''About Face'' is a 1952 musical film directed by Roy Del Ruth and starring Gordon MacRae and Eddie Bracken. The movie was a flop. Bracken later said "the main reason why audiences rejected About Face, I think, is that most of us were too damn old for the roles." Roy Del Ruth
Roy Del Ruth (October 18, 1893, Delaware – April 27, 1961) was an American filmmaker. Early career Beginning his Hollywood career as a writer for Mack Sennett in 1915, Del Ruth later directed his first short film ''Hungry Lions'' (1919) for the producer. By the early 1920s, he had moved over to features including ''Asleep at the Switch'' (1923), ''The Hollywood Kid'' (1924), ''Eve's Lover'' (1925) and '' The Little Irish Girl'' (1926). Following several more titles, many now lost, he directed '' The First Auto'' (1927), a charming look at the introduction of the first automobile to a small rural town. Also once believed lost, the film's almost entirely unsynchronised soundtrack features several elaborate sound effects for the time. Larry Keating
Lawrence Keating (June 13, 1899 – August 26, 1963) was an American actor best known for his roles as Harry Morton on ''The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show'', which he played from 1953 to 1958, and next-door neighbor Roger Addison on '' Mister Ed'', which he played from 1961 until his death in 1963. Early years Keating was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Career On April 6, 1937, Keating created ''Professor Puzzlewit'', a quiz program on KMJ radio in Fresno, California, and Blue Network west coast network. He also was the program's quizmaster. Keating was an announcer for NBC in the 1940s, an announcer for ABC radio's ''This Is Your FBI'' from 1945 to 1953, and a regular on the short-lived series '' The Hank McCune Show''. John Baer (actor)
John Baer (June 6, 1923 – January 7, 2006) was an American actor. He appeared in over 60 film and television productions between 1950 and 1974. Among the highlights of his career was the leading role in the television series ''Terry and the Pirates (TV series), Terry and the Pirates'' (1953). One of his better-known film roles was as Paul Trochard, the greedy heir who gets killed by a snake, in Michael Curtiz's comedy ''We're No Angels (1955 film), We're No Angels'' (1955). While he spent most of his film career in supporting roles or bit parts, Baer also played the lead role in ''Night of the Blood Beast'', a horror film by Gene Corman, Gene and Roger Corman. When his roles declined during the 1960s, Baer started a second career in real estate business. He retired from acting after a guest appearance in ''Gunsmoke'' in 1974. Joel Grey (born Joel David Katz; April 11, 1932) is an American actor, singer, dancer, photographer and theatre director. He is best known for portraying the Master of Ceremonies in the musical '' Cabaret'' on Broadway as well as in the 1972 film adaptation.
