A Promise For Tomorrow () is a Singaporean Chinese drama series which aired on Channel 8 (Singaporean TV channel), Mediacorp TV Channel 8 in 2005. Former actress Chen Xiuhuan, who had effectively retired from showbiz during the 1990s, made a temporary return to acting for the drama. Synopsis 21-year-old Fang Fang comes from an unfortunate background. Her father Fang Zhen married young and his philandering ways caused his wife Huiyin to leave him. To worsen matters, Fang Fang has to take care of two younger siblings from two different mothers from her father's extramarital affairs and also run the small family business at the same time. Another of Fang Zhen's out-of-wedlock children Fang Xiang is sent to live with them. Adding to Fang Fang's woes, Fang Xiang is epileptic and has cancer. Michael Wong (singer)
Michael Wong Kong Leong (; Hakka Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: Vòng Kông-liòng; born 30 August 1970), also known mononymously by his Chinese name Guang Liang, is a Malaysian Chinese singer and composer who has sung and written many love-themed ballads and love songs, many of which have high popularity. He is popularly known in the Mandopop scene as the "Prince of Love Songs" (情歌王子). Wong began his singing career in a duo with Victor Wong. The pair had attained notable success in Taiwan, but in a mutual agreement, the two split in 2000. Star Awards For Young Talent
The Star Awards (Chinese: 红星大奖) are awards for artistic and technical merit in the media organisation Mediacorp of Singapore where Mediacorp recognises entertainers under their employment for outstanding performances of the year. The awards are given annually in a ceremony. The various category winners are awarded a trophy, with initial designs featuring various star shapes. The star was subsequently removed and the trophy is designed as a S shaped column, depicting the star. History The 1st Star Awards presentation was held on 26 February 1994, took place at the Caldecott Broadcast Centre, MediaCorp TV Theatre with an audience of about 500 people. The National Kidney Foundation Singapore (NKF) is a non-profit health organisation in Singapore. Its mission is to render services to kidney patients, encourage and promote renal research, as well as to carry out public education programs on kidney diseases. Chen Tianwen
Chen Tianwen (born 28 March 1963) is a Singaporean actor. Career Chen was educated at the now-defunct Serangoon Garden Secondary Technical School. He joined the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (now Mediacorp) after completing the 5th artiste drama training class and made his debut in 1984. Eelyn Kok Hui Wen () is a Singaporean actress. She was prominently a full-time MediaCorp artist from 2001 to 2013, but continues to film on an ad hoc basis. Ix Shen (, formerly ; born 11 March 1972), also known as Shen Qing, is a Singaporean former television actor, now working in film production. Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean free-to-air television channel, airing in Mandarin Chinese. It was created by Television Singapura on 31 August 1963 with experimental broadcasts, before going official on 23 November that year. The channel's logo is a yellow number 8 on top of a red disc.
