Arikesari Maravarman
Arikesari Maravarman (''r. c.'' 640–690 CE), also known as Parankusa, was a Pandya king of early medieval south India. Arikesari's reign witnessed the beginning of the Pandya contesting with the Pallavas in the northern part of the Tamil country. He probably entered into an alliance with Chalukyas (to the counter the Pallavas). The Pandyas also fought with the Cheras ("Keralas") under his rule. Period Arikesari Maravarman was the successor of Seliyan Sendan (Jayantavarman), but it is not known for certain if he was Jayantavarman's son or not (most probably his son). * K. A. Arikesari I
Arikesari I (r. c. 775–800 CE) was an Indian ruler from the Vemulavada Chalukya dynasty. He was a vassal of the Rashtrakuta king Dhruva Dharavarsha and appears to have helped his overlord subjugate the Vengi Chalukya ruler Vishnuvardhana IV. Reign Arikesari was a son of his predecessor Vinayaditya; he had a brother named Biragriha. The records of Arikesari's successors state that he conquered the kingdoms of Vengi and Trikalinga during the reign of his overlord Nirupama-deva, who can be identified as the Rashtrakuta king Dhruva Dharavarsha. Dhruva had ascended the throne after a war of succession against his brother Govinda II, who had been supported by the Vengi Chalukya king Vishnuvardhana IV. It appears that after consolidating his power, Dhruva sent an army led by Arikesari to chastise Vishnuvardhana, whose territories included Vengi and Trikalinga. Arikesari II
Arikesari II ( ) was a ruler of the Vemulavada Chalukya dynasty of present-day Telangana, India. A Rashtrakuta vassal, he played an important role in dethroning the Rashtrakuta emperor Govinda IV and enthroning Amoghavarsha III as the new emperor. He was the patron of Pampa, one of the earliest notable Kannada-language poets. Early life Arikesari was a son of his predecessor Narasimha II. A verse in the ''Vikramarjuna Vijayam'', composed by the Chalukya court poet Pampa, states that Arikesari had Indra's shoulder as his cradle. According to one theory, this may mean that Arikesari's mother Jakavve was a daughter of the Rashtrakuta king Indra III. While this is plausible, no direct evidence supports this hypothesis. According to the Parbhani copper plate inscription, Arikesari II married two Rashtrakuta princesses - Revakanirmadi (the daughter of Indra III) and Lokambika. Arikesarin
Arikesarin was Shilahara ruler of north Konkan branch from 1015 CE – 1022 CE. Vajjada was succeeded by his younger brother Arikesarin alias Keshideva I. While yet a prince, he had taken part in the Paramara king Sindhuraja's campaign in South Kosala (Chhattisgadh) and had also marched with an army to Saurashtra where he worshipped Someshvara (Somanatha) after his conquests. It was during the reign of Arikesarin that Konkan was invaded by the Paramara king Bhoja. Two of his grants made in celebration of the victory are dated in A. D. 1020, one in January and the other in September of the year. (Dept.
