Anglican Province Of Bendel
The Bendel Province is one of the fourteen ecclesiastical provinces of the Church of Nigeria. It comprises thirteen dioceses, each one headed by a bishop and it was created in 2002, when the current division into provinces was adopted. His headquarters are located in Asaba. The first Archbishop of the Bendel Province was Albert Agbaje, who died in 2005. He was succeeded by Nicholas Okoh, latter replaced upon his election as Primate of Nigeria by Friday John Imaekhai in 2010. In 2020 Cyril Odutemu became Archbishop of Bendel. The Church of Nigeria is the Anglican church in Nigeria. It is the second-largest province in the Anglican Communion, as measured by baptised membership (not by attendance), after the Church of England. it gives its membership as "over 18 million", out of a total Nigerian population of 190 million. It is "effectively the largest province in the Communion." As measured by active membership, the Church of Nigeria has nearly 2 million active baptised members. According to a study published by ''Cambridge University Press'' in the ''Journal of Anglican Studies'', there are between 4.94 and 11.74 million Anglicans in Nigeria. Edafe Emamezi
Edafe Emamezi is a retired Anglican bishop in Nigeria. Before his retirement in 2021 he served as Bishop of Western Izon. He was born on 3 January 1951 at Nwaniba and educated at Archbishop Vining College of Theology. He was ordained in 1986.
