Alistair Edwards
Alistair Martin Edwards (born 21 June 1968) is an Australian former soccer player and coach. A prominent forward, he made a name for himself with National Soccer League clubs Sydney Olympic and Perth Glory. He was also a favourite with Malaysian League teams Sarawak FA, Selangor FA, Singapore FA, Johor FA and Kedah FA in the 1990s. He is currently the chief executive officer at Johor Darul Ta'zim. Playing career Youth career Born in Whyalla, South Australia to Scottish parents, Edwards' family moved to Kwinana when he was a child, where he joined the local junior team before representing Western Australia in a team that won the 1986 Australian under-18 title. He made a couple of appearances for the state senior side at the age of 17, before attending the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. Whyalla
Whyalla is a city in South Australia. It was founded as Hummock's Hill, and was known by that name until 1916. It is the fourth most populous city in the Australian state of South Australia after Adelaide, Mount Gambier, and Gawler, and along with Port Pirie and Port Augusta is one of the three towns to make up the "Iron Triangle". The Western Waves Football Club were a short-lived West Australian women's soccer club that played only one season in the former Women's National Soccer League. History For the first seven years of the Women's National Soccer League the competition had been fielded by the same six clubs, with two in New South Wales and one each from Queensland, the ACT, Victoria and South Australia. It was a welcomed move when it was announced that a seventh club would be joining the competition for the 2004 season, the Western Waves from Perth, Western Australia. City Of Kwinana
The City of Kwinana is a local government area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 118 square kilometres in metropolitan Perth, and lies about 38 km south of the Perth central business district, via the Kwinana Freeway. Kwinana maintains 287 km of roads and had a population of 45,867 at the 2021 Census. History Kwinana is a Kimberley Aboriginal word meaning either "young woman" or "pretty maiden". The Malaysia Super League (), known simply as the Super League (), is the men's top professional football division of the Malaysian football league system. The National Soccer League (NSL) was the top-level soccer league in Australia, run by Soccer Australia and later the Australian Soccer Association.
