Ako Si Ninoy
''Ako si Ninoy'' (') is a 2022 Filipino musical drama and biographical film written and directed by Vincent Tañada. Adapted from Tañada's 2008 stage play of the same name, it focuses on the lives of 11 Filipinos which draw parallels to the life of Ninoy Aquino. It stars Juan Karlos Labajo, Sarah Holmes, and an ensemble cast of Johnrey Rivas, Marlo Mortel, Cassy Legaspi, Joaquin Domagoso, Nicole Laurel Asensio, JM Yosures, Adelle Ibarrientos, Vean Olmedo, Jomar Tañada, Brae Luke Quirante, and Bodjie Pascua. The film was premiered at the Power Plant Mall on February 18, 2022 and theatrically released on February 22, 2023. Juan Karlos "JK" Labajo (; born February 5, 2001) is a German-Filipino actor, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and television personality. He is co-managed by ABS-CBN's Star Magic and MCA Music Inc. (Philippines). He is currently the frontman of the band Juan Karlos. He auditioned for ABS-CBN's reality singing competition '' The Voice Kids (Philippines season 1)'' shown from June to July 2014. Jaime Ramon Misa Paredes, better known simply as Jim Paredes (), is a Filipino singer, composer, television host, writer and actor. He is known as one of the members of popular musical trio APO Hiking Society (along with Danny Javier and Boboy Garovillo). He is the son of Ester Paredes Jimenez, a staunch martial law activist. Paredes' most prominent solo work, '' Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo'', became the anthem of the peaceful People Power Revolution that overthrew the regime of Ferdinand Marcos. It was participated in by 15 Filipino artists in April of that year, and its English version "''A New and Better Way''" was launched in Australia a few months after. Assassination Of Ninoy Aquino
Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., a former Philippine senator, was assassinated on Sunday, August 21, 1983, on the tarmac of Manila International Airport (now named Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor). A longtime political opponent of President Ferdinand Marcos, Aquino had just landed in his home country after three years of self-imposed exile in the United States when he was shot in the head while being escorted from an aircraft to a vehicle that was waiting to transport him to prison. Also killed was Rolando Galman, who was falsely accused of Aquino's murder. Aquino was elected to the Philippine Senate in 1967 and was critical of Marcos. He was imprisoned on trumped up charges shortly after Marcos's 1972 declaration of martial law.
