''A View to a Kill'' is the soundtrack for the film of the same name, the 14th instalment in the James Bond film series. Theme song The theme song " A View to a Kill", was written by John Barry and Duran Duran, and was recorded in London with a 60-piece orchestra. "A View to a Kill" is the most successful Bond theme to date. In 1986 Barry and Duran Duran were nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song. Duran Duran was chosen to do the song after bassist John Taylor (a lifelong Bond fan) approached producer Cubby Broccoli at a party, and somewhat drunkenly asked "When are you going to get someone ''decent'' to do one of your theme songs?" John Barry (composer)
John Barry Prendergast (3 November 1933 – 30 January 2011) was a British composer and conductor of film music. He composed the scores for eleven of the ''James Bond'' films between 1963 and 1987, as well as arranging and performing the " James Bond Theme" for the first film in the series, 1962's '' Dr. No''. He wrote the Grammy- and Academy Award-winning scores to the films '' Dances with Wolves'' and '' Out of Africa'', as well as the scores of ''The Scarlet Letter'', '' Chaplin'', '' The Cotton Club'', '' Game of Death'', '' The Tamarind Seed'', ''Mary, Queen of Scots'' and the theme for the television series ''The Persuaders!'', in a career spanning over 50 years. The "James Bond Theme" is the main signature theme music of the James Bond films and has featured in every Eon Productions#James Bond series, Eon Productions Bond film since ''Dr. No (film), Dr. No'', released in 1962. May Day (James Bond)
May Day is a character in the James Bond film '' A View to a Kill'', played by actress Grace Jones. In the film May Day works as a bodyguard for Max Zorin, and is also his lover. She kills Achille Aubergine (escaping from Bond by jumping from the Eiffel Tower) and Godfrey Tibbett. She has sexual intercourse with James Bond during the film, dominating him by being on top. When she fights Bond at the end of the film, however, May Day realizes Zorin has left her to die in his mine, and says, "And I thought that creep loved me!" She then helps Bond move a bomb clear of the mine with a handcar. She willingly drives it out of the mine, where it detonates, killing her. ''The Four Seasons'' ( it, Le quattro stagioni) is a group of four violin concertos by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, each of which gives musical expression to a season of the year. These were composed around 1718−1720, when Vivaldi was the court chapel master in Mantua. They were published in 1725 in Amsterdam, together with eight additional concerti, as (''The Contest Between Harmony and Invention''). ''The Four Seasons'' is the best known of Vivaldi's works. Though three of the concerti are wholly original, the first, "Spring", borrows patterns from a sinfonia in the first act of Vivaldi's contemporaneous opera ''Il Giustino''. Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (4 March 1678 – 28 July 1741) was an Italian composer, virtuoso violinist and impresario of Baroque music.
