A. T. Ariyaratne
Sri Lankabhimanya Ahangamage Tudor Ariyaratne (Sinhala language, Sinhala:අහන්ගමගේ ටියුඩර් ආරියරත්න, born 5 November 1931) is a Sri Lankan founder and president of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement in Sri Lanka. He was nominated to the Constitutional Council (Sri Lanka), Constitutional Council as a civil representative on 10 September 2015. He received the Jamnalal Bajaj Award in 1991. Biography A.T. Ariyaratne was born on 5 November 1931 in Unawatuna village in Galle District of British Ceylon, Ceylon. He had his school education at Buona Vista College, Unawatuna and Mahinda College, Galle. Then he attended a teachers college, after which he was a high school teacher until 1972 at Nalanda College Colombo. Ariyaratne started his work on Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement in 1958.
