2020–21 Creighton Bluejays Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team represented Creighton University in the 2020-21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bluejays were led by 11th-year head coach Greg McDermott and played their home games at the CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, as members of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 22–9, 14–6 to finish second in Big East play. They defeated Butler and UConn in the Big East tournament before losing to Georgetown in the championship game. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West region. They defeated UC Santa Barbara and Ohio to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Greg McDermott
Greg McDermott (born November 25, 1964) is an American basketball coach who has been the head coach of the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team since 2010. Previously, McDermott served as the head coach at Wayne State College, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa, and Iowa State. He is the father of NBA player Doug McDermott. Early life McDermott grew up in Cascade, Iowa, and played basketball for Cascade High School. A 6'8" center, he then played college basketball for the Northern Iowa Panthers from 1984 to 1988. In 1988, he earned a B.A. degree from Northern Iowa. He is the father of current NBA player Doug McDermott. The 2020–21 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Gonzaga University, located in Spokane, Washington, in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Mark Few, in his 22nd season as head coach. This was the Bulldogs' 17th season at the on-campus McCarthey Athletic Center and 41st season as a member of the West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs became the first undefeated team to advance to the national championship game since Indiana State in 1979. Ty-Shon Alexander
Ty-Shon Leron Alexander (born July 16, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for Koroivos of the Greek A2 Basket League. He played college basketball for the Creighton Bluejays. Alexander signed with the Phoenix Suns in November 2020 after going undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft. During his rookie season with the Suns, he reached the NBA Finals. Davion Mintz (born June 30, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Metros de Santiago of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto (LNB).
