2020 New York Yankees Season
The 2020 New York Yankees season was the 118th season for the New York Yankees. The Yankees played in Yankee Stadium in the city's northern borough of The Bronx and were led by Aaron Boone in his third season as team manager. On March 12, 2020, MLB announced that because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the regular season would be delayed by at least two weeks in addition to the remainder of spring training being cancelled. Four days later, it was announced that the start of the season would be pushed back indefinitely due to the recommendation made by the CDC regarding large public events. On June 23, commissioner Rob Manfred unilaterally implemented a 60-game season. Players reported to training camps on July 1 in order to resume spring training and prepare for a July 23 Opening Day. American League East
The American League East is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. MLB consists of an East, Central, and West division for each of its two 15-team leagues, the American League (AL) and National League (NL). DJ LeMahieu
David John LeMahieu (; born July 13, 1988) is an American professional baseball infielder for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies. The Cubs selected LeMahieu in the second round of the 2009 MLB draft out of LSU, and he made his MLB debut for the Cubs in 2011 before being traded to the Rockies before the 2012 season. Robert Jacob Brantly (born July 14, 1989) is an American professional baseball catcher who is currently a free agent. The Detroit Tigers drafted Brantly in the third round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft.
