The 2019 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Golden Gophers played their home games at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and competed in the West Division of the Big Ten Conference. They were led by third-year head coach P. J. Fleck. Minnesota was projected to finish in sixth place in the Big Ten West Division by the preseason media poll. Instead, Minnesota had its most successful season in over 50 years. The Gophers won their first nine games of the year, punctuated with a home win over then-No. 4 Penn State, and rose to eighth in the College Football Playoff rankings. Kirk Ciarrocca
Kirk Ciarrocca (born August 12, 1965), is the offensive coordinator for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. He most recently served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Minnesota. Prior to that he spent a year as the offensive coordinator for Penn State University. The 2018 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represented the Georgia Institute of Technology during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Yellow Jackets were led by head coach Paul Johnson in his eleventh season on the job. They played their home games at Bobby Dodd Stadium. They competed as a member of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They finished the season 7–6, 5–3 in ACC play to finish in second place in the Coastal Division. The 2018 Quick Lane Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 26, 2018, at Ford Field in Detroit. It was the fifth edition of the Quick Lane Bowl, and one of the 2018–19 bowl games concluding the 2018 FBS football season. The game was sponsored by Quick Lane tire and auto centers. Rashod Bateman (born November 29, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL).
