2018 Moto2 Season
The 2018 FIM Moto2 World Championship was a part of the 70th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Franco Morbidelli was the reigning series champion, but he did not defend his title as he moved to the MotoGP class. 2018 was the final season that the Honda CBR600RR inline-4 engine package — which debuted in the 2010 Moto2 season — was used in competition; as the brand new engine package (765cc inline-3) supplied by Triumph Motorcycles was introduced for the 2019 season. After finishing 3rd at Sepang, Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia became the 2018 Moto2 World Champion. Miguel Oliveira finished second in the championship and his teammate Brad Binder finished third. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing. Mattia Pasini
Mattia Pasini (born 13 August 1985) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Career Early career Born in Rimini, Pasini participated in his first race at the age of 9. 125cc World Championship After several successful years in the Italian and European championships, he made his 125cc world championship debut in 2004 as the teammate of Roberto Locatelli. He finished his first season in the 15th place overall, and earned the rookie of the year award. His best results were a 3rd place in Qualifying and a 7th place in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The following year Pasini was running in the lead in most of the races and won the Chinese and Catalan Grands Prix. He finished the season in fourth place overall. In 2006 Pasini finished fourth overall once again, having won the Italian Grand Prix and the German Grand Prix. Andrea Locatelli (born 16 October 1996 in Alzano Lombardo) is an Italian motorcycle racer, set to compete in the 2022 Superbike World Championship for Yamaha. Khairul Idham Pawi (born 20 September 1998) is a Malaysian motorcycle racer. He is the youngest non-European to win a Grand Prix, accomplishing this feat in the Argentine race of the 2016 Moto3 World Championship, aged just 17. Álex Márquez Alentà (born 23 April 1996) is a Grand Prix motorcycle rider from Spain racing for Ducati satellite team Gresini Racing MotoGP.
