The 2017–18 season was Swansea City's 98th season in the English football league system, and their seventh consecutive season in the Premier League. Along with competing in the Premier League, the club competed in the FA Cup and EFL Cup. The season covered the period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. Swansea's relegation to the Championship was confirmed on 13 May 2018, the final day of the Premier League season, by virtue of them losing 2–1 at home to already relegated Stoke City, where only a win and a ten-goal difference swing over Southampton would have ensured survival. Swansea (; cy, Abertawe ) is a coastal city and the second-largest city of Wales. It forms a principal area, officially known as the City and County of Swansea ( cy, links=no, Dinas a Sir Abertawe). Nigel Gibbs
Nigel James Gibbs (born 20 November 1965) is an English professional football manager and former player. He has been an assistant coach at Swansea City and has previously worked as a coach with the Under-19 squad of Tottenham Hotspur. A Watford supporter, as well as a product of their youth system, Gibbs spent his entire professional career as a right back for the club. He was assistant manager of Leeds United after being appointed on 12 April 2013 alongside Brian McDermott, whom he assisted at Reading. He departed from Leeds United in August 2014. Erwin Mulder
Erwin Mulder (; born 3 March 1989) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Go Ahead Eagles. He is a former Netherlands U20's international and also received a call up to the senior Netherlands side in 2012. Alan Curtis (footballer)
Alan Thomas Curtis (born 16 April 1954) is a former Wales international footballer, who played as a forward; he is currently the honorary club president of Swansea City. He began his career with Swansea City in 1972, and spent the next seven years with the "Swans", winning promotion out of the Fourth Division in 1977–78 and out of the Third Division in 1978–79. He was then sold on to Leeds United, but struggled in the First Division and was sold back to Swansea in 1980. He helped Swansea to win promotion out of the Second Division in 1980–81, but a period of decline for the club followed and he moved on to Southampton in November 1983. He played on loan at Stoke City towards the end of the 1985–86 season, before he joined Cardiff City in the summer. Tony Roberts (footballer)
Anthony Mark Roberts (born 4 August 1969) is a Welsh football coach and former professional footballer, who is the goalkeeping coach for Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Wales national team. As a player, he was as a goalkeeper who notably played in the Premier League for Queens Park Rangers over various seasons before dropping down into the Football League with the club in 1996. He later played for Millwall, St. Albans City, Atlanta Silverbacks and Dagenham & Redbridge. He was capped twice by Wales. Bruno Lage
Bruno Miguel Silva do Nascimento (born 12 May 1976), known as Bruno Lage (), is a Portuguese football manager who most recently was the head coach of Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
