2017 Minnesota Twins Season
The 2017 Minnesota Twins season was the 57th season for the franchise in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, their eighth season at Target Field and the 117th overall in the American League. The Twins began the season on April 3 at home against the Kansas City Royals and finished the year on October 1 at home against the Detroit Tigers. On September 27, the Twins clinched the second wild-card berth to become the first team in Major League Baseball history to reach the postseason after losing 100 games the previous season. They were able to take advantage of a weak American League, as they made the playoffs despite their pedestrian 85-77 record, the worst record to make the playoffs since the 2008 Los Angeles Dodgers. The 2017 Chicago White Sox season was the franchise’s 118th season in Chicago and 117th in the American League. It was also the team’s first season under new manager Rick Renteria following Robin Ventura, who chose not to extend his contract with the team after five seasons. Brandon Lee Kintzler (born August 1, 1984) is an American professional baseball relief pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins, and Philadelphia Phillies. Kintzler was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, and began playing baseball with a traveling youth team. 2017 American League Wild Card Game
The 2017 American League Wild Card Game was a play-in game during Major League Baseball's (MLB) 2017 postseason that was played between the American League's (AL) two wild card teams, the New York Yankees and the Minnesota Twins. The game was televised nationally by ESPN.
