The 2016 Wisconsin Badgers football team represented the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Paul Chryst
Paul Joseph Chryst (born November 17, 1965) is a former American football head coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. Chryst was the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2012 to 2014. Prior to his head coaching career, Chryst had previously been the offensive coordinator at Wisconsin from 2005 through 2011. He also served in the same capacity at Oregon State University and was an assistant coach for the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. Chryst played college football at Wisconsin, where he lettered as a quarterback and tight end from 1986 to 1988. Alex Erickson
Alex Michael Erickson (born November 6, 1992) is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin and was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He has also been a member of the Carolina Panthers. High school career At Darlington High School, Erickson rushed for 3,856 yards and 57 touchdowns, passed for 3,648 yards and 37 touchdowns and recorded 170 tackles and 14 interceptions. He was chosen to play in the WFCA All-Star game as a senior and was named the Wisconsin State Journal Small School Player of the Year. The Chuck Bednarik Award is presented annually to the defensive player in college football as judged by the Maxwell Football Club to be the best in the United States. The award is named for Chuck Bednarik, a former college and professional American football player. Voters for the Maxwell College Awards are NCAA head college football coaches, members of the Maxwell Football Club, and sportswriters and sportscasters from across the country. Doak Walker Award
Since 1990 the Doak Walker Award honors the top running back in college football in the United States. It is named in honor of Doak Walker, a former running back who played for the SMU Mustangs from 1945 to 1949 and in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions from 1950 to 1955. The player is selected by the award's National Selection Committee, which consists of notable sportswriters, television commentators, analysts, radio sports personalities and former All-America and NFL All-Pro football players. The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the college football player judged by a panel of sportscasters, sportswriters, and National Collegiate Athletic Association head coaches and the membership of the Maxwell Football Club to be the best all-around in the United States. Corey Clement
Corey Joel Clement (born November 2, 1994) is an American football running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin, and was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He won Super Bowl LII with the team his rookie season, catching a touchdown in the game and helping execute the Philly Special. Early years Clement attended Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey. During his career, he rushed for 6,245 yards, 34 rushing touchdowns and 90 total touchdowns for the Bulldogs. The Lott IMPACT Trophy is presented annually to the college football defensive IMPACT player of the year. Jack Cichy
Jack Cichy (born May 5, 1996) is a current American football coach and former linebacker. He played college football at Wisconsin Badgers football, Wisconsin. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. College career Playing for Wisconsin Badgers football, Wisconsin, Cichy recorded three consecutive sacks in the 2015 Holiday Bowl, a sequence that gained much notoriety. Rimington Trophy
The Dave Rimington Trophy is awarded to the player considered to be the best American football center in college football. Dave Rimington was a center who played at the University of Nebraska from 1979 to 1982. Michael Deiter (born September 3, 1996) is an American football center for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin, and was drafted by the Dolphins in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Early years Deiter attended Genoa Area High School in Genoa, Ohio. Derek John Watt (born November 7, 1992) is an American football fullback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wisconsin, and was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. His older brother is J. J. Watt, and his younger brother is Steelers teammate T. J. Watt. Early years Watt attended and played high school football at Pewaukee High School.
