2016 Harrisburg City Islanders Season
The 2016 season is the Harrisburg City Islanders's 13th season of competitive soccer - its thirteenth season in the third division of American soccer and its sixth season in United Soccer League since the league was first created with the City Islanders as one of the original 10 founder-members. Stadium Relocation The 2016 season marks the City Islanders transition from Skyline Sports Complex to FNB Field (formerly Metro Bank Park) on City Island in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The transition was a result of the collaboration with the current tenants, the Harrisburg Senators, and to keep pace with the standards being implemented by the USL. The team will also share home matches with Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as an effort to expand the Islanders fanbase throughout south central Pennsylvania. Harrisburg City Islanders
Penn FC (formerly the Harrisburg City Islanders) was an American professional soccer team based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in 2003, the team most recently played in the USL Pro, the second tier of the United States soccer league system. In October 2018, the club formally announced it will not participate in the 2019 season and would have resume play in 2020 as a member of USL League One, a league in the third tier. On November 15, 2017 the team was rebranded as Penn FC. The rebrand served in conjunction with a partnership with Rush Soccer youth development program. Penn FC served Rush Soccer's professional team and the club's most important piece to their extensive network. The team played its home games at FNB Field on City Island. Atlanta Silverbacks
The Atlanta Silverbacks FC were an American professional soccer club based in Atlanta, Georgia. Founded in 1998 as Atlanta Ruckus, the club played in many leagues over the years before folding after the 2015 season. The team played its home games at Atlanta Silverbacks Park, a large soccer complex featuring a 5,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in Atlanta, 15 miles northeast of downtown. The team's colors were red, black, grey, and white. The club had 2 independent supporter groups, Westside 109 and the Atlanta Ultras. The Ultras were established in 2011 & were known to support both the Silverbacks men's and women's side. Joshua Hughes (born November 3, 1991) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder. Career College and amateur Hughes spent his entire college career at Berry College. He made a total of 69 appearances for the Vikings and tallied 14 goals and six assists. He also played in the Premier Development League for Forest City London. Professional On April 15, 2015, Hughes signed a professional contract with NASL side Atlanta Silverbacks. He made his professional debut on July 4, 2015, in a 2–1 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Hønefoss Ballklubb is a Norwegian football club from Hønefoss, founded in 1895. The club was a part of the multi-sports club L/F Hønefoss, which folded in 2008. After 11 years in 1. divisjon, the second tier of Norwegian football, Hønefoss was promoted to Tippeligaen in 2009, where they finished 14th in 2010 Tippeligaen and was relegated after a relegation-playoff against Fredrikstad. William Robert "Bobby" Warshaw (born November 21, 1988) is an American former soccer player. He now works as a writer, analyst, and author. Football career Youth and college Warshaw attended Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School, where he was a Gatorade State Player of the Year twice in 2005 and 2006. He was the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2006 and NSCAA Youth All-America Player of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Darvin Ebanks (born 30 May 1993) is an American professional soccer player and coach. Youth and College Ebanks attended Mount de Sales High School where he was considered a 5-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer. He attended the University of North Carolina where he helped the Tar Heels earn the 2011 Championship Title. Wilmington Hammerheads FC was a semi-professional American soccer team based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1996, the team last competed in the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2017. History The Hammerheads had one championship in 2003, and were a finalist in 2002 and 2012, losing to the Long Island Rough Riders 2–1 in 2002 and losing 0–1 to the Charleston Battery in 2012.
