2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage
The 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League group stage was played from August 4 to October 22, 2015. A total of 24 teams competed in the group stage to decide the eight places in the knockout stage of the 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League. Draw The draw for the tournament was held on June 1, 2015, 20:00 EDT ( UTC−4), at the New World Center in Miami Beach, Florida. The 24 teams were drawn into eight groups of three, with each group containing one team from each of the three pots. For the draw, the 24 teams were seeded into three pots. The 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League knockout stage was played from February 23 to April 27, 2016. A total of eight teams competed in the knockout stage to decide the champions of the 2015–16 CONCACAF Champions League. Qualified teams The winners of each of the eight groups in the group stage qualified for the knockout stage. Seeding The qualified teams were seeded 1–8 in the knockout stage according to their results in the group stage. Format In the knockout stage, the eight teams played a single-elimination tournament. Luis Ángel Mendoza Escamilla (born 3 February 1990), also known as El Quick, is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a winger. The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground.
