2013–14 Walsall F.C. Season
The 2013/14 season saw Walsall finish 13th in League One. The campaign was most notable for the Saddlers' meetings with Black Country rivals Wolves, including a 1–0 away at Molineux. Season summary The summer of 2013 saw the Saddlers lose the attacking trio of Will Grigg, Febian Brandy and Jamie Paterson, who had been responsible for close to two-thirds of the club’s goals in the previous campaign. Their replacements included Chelsea loanee Milan Lalkovic, playmaker Romaine Sawyers and striker Troy Hewitt. After a mixed start, September saw Walsall take on Wolves twice in the space of two weeks. A short trip to Molineux in the Football League Trophy saw Wolves emerge victorious on penalties following a 2–2 draw. Walsall (, or ; locally ) is a market town and administrative centre in the West Midlands County, England. Historically part of Staffordshire, it is located north-west of Birmingham, east of Wolverhampton and from Lichfield. Jamie Charles Stuart Paterson (born 20 December 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward. He can operate as both a winger and forward. Career Walsall Born in Coventry, Paterson made his senior debut for Walsall on 31 August 2010, in a 2–1 defeat to Chesterfield in the Football League Trophy, making his league début four days later, in a 1–0 home loss to Colchester United. His first goal for the club came over a year later, as he scored in a 1–1 draw against Huddersfield Town on 5 November 2011. James Robert Baxendale (born 16 September 1992) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Pontefract Collieries. Early life Born in Thorne, South Yorkshire, Baxendale attended The McAuley Catholic High School in Doncaster. Career Early career Doncaster Rovers Baxendale came through the youth setup at Yorkshire rivals Leeds United and was a regular for the Under-18 side, however he failed to win a professional contract at Elland Road and was released at the end of the 2010–11 season. Andy Robinson (footballer Born 1979)
Andrew Mark Robinson (born 3 November 1979) is an English footballer who plays for Rock Ferry Social. Robinson's professional career began in 2002 at Tranmere Rovers and concluded in 2015 after a short stint at Shrewsbury Town. In this time, he made 332 league appearances in representing four clubs, scoring 64 goals. During his five years with Swansea City, he won the Football League Trophy in 2006 and the League One title in 2008.
