2013 Tour Of Qatar
The 2013 Tour of Qatar was the twelfth edition of the Tour of Qatar cycling stage race. It was rated as a 2.HC event on the UCI Asia Tour, and was held between 3 and 8 February 2013, in Qatar. The race was won by Britain's Mark Cavendish, of the team, winning the final four stages to take the victory. Cavendish's winning margin over runner-up Brent Bookwalter () – the winners of the team time trial stage – was 25 seconds, and Brookwalter's teammate Taylor Phinney completed the podium, one second behind Brookwalter and 26 seconds down on Cavendish. In the race's other classifications, Cavendish also won the points classification, Phinney won the white jersey for the youth classification, by placing third overall in the general classification, and finished at the head of the teams classification. Mark Cavendish
Mark Simon Cavendish (born 21 May 1985) is a Manx professional road racing cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . As a track cyclist he specialises in the madison, points race, and scratch race disciplines; as a road racer he is a sprinter. He is widely considered one of the greatest road sprinters of all time, and in 2021 was called "the greatest sprinter in the history of the Tour and of cycling" by Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France. Al Wakrah
Al Wakrah ( ar, الوكرة, al-Wakra) is the capital city of the Al Wakrah Municipality in Qatar. Al Wakrah's eastern edge is the shores of the Persian Gulf and Qatar's capital Doha is situated to the city's immediate north. Heinrich Haussler (born 25 February 1984) is an Australian road racing cyclist of German heritage, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He has won 2 stages in Grand Tours during his career, one at the 2005 Vuelta a España and another at the 2009 Tour de France.
