2012 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship Season
The 2012 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season was the second Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season. The season started at Mantorp Park on 5 May and ended on 22 September at the brand new track at Solvalla in Stockholm. Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
The Scandinavian Touring Car Championship (STCC) is a touring car racing series based in Scandinavia. The series took over from the Danish Touringcar Championship and Swedish Touring Car Championship, with its first season in 2011. The Scandinavian Touring Car Cup was awarded in 2010 to the driver with best results from selected races in the Danish and Swedish seasons. In 2013, the series merged with the rival TTA – Racing Elite League TTA – Racing Elite League was a Swedish Touring Car Championship started in 2012, founded by four of the biggest teams in Swedish Touring Car racing; Polestar Racing, Flash Engineering, WestCoast Racing and Brovallen Design in 2011. The Alfa Romeo 156 (Type 932) is a compact executive car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Alfa Romeo. It was introduced at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show as the replacement for the Alfa Romeo 155. The 156 received a positive reception and in the following year went on to win the 1998 European Car of the Year award. The 156 saloon was discontinued in Europe late in 2005, while the Q4 Crosswagon continued in production until the end of 2007. Cars were assembled at the Fiat Group factory in Pomigliano d'Arco, Italy and at a General Motors facility in Rayong, Thailand. Ring Knutstorp is a motor racing circuit in Kågeröd, Sweden. The circuit was built in 1963, extended in 1970, and modified to its present configuration in 1980. Mantorp Park
Mantorp Park is a motor racing circuit near the town of Mantorp in Mjölby Municipality, Sweden. The circuit was built in 1969 with finance from BP Sweden as a permanent road course and a drag strip. Mantorp Park is capable of four different layouts, but today only the short and long tracks are used. The European Formula Two Championship visited from 1971 until 1973, and again in 1981 and 1982. Today it mainly hosts club events, dragracing, a driving school and rounds of the Swedish Formula Three Championship and the Swedish Touring Car Championship.
