2011 Kansas City Royals Season
The Kansas City Royals' season of 2011 was the 43rd for the Royals franchise. It was the fifth full season with Dayton Moore as general manager. The team was managed by Ned Yost in his first full season with the Royals. It was the 26th straight year of the Royals missing the playoffs. Offseason On November 10, 2010, the Royals traded outfielder David DeJesus for the right-handed, starting pitcher Vin Mazzaro from the Oakland Athletics and minor league pitcher Justin Marks. Mazzaro was 10–17 with a 4.72 ERA in 41 career Major League appearances, including 35 starts, for the Athletics in 2009 and 2010. Pitching Bruce Chen began the year with a 4–1 record and 3.59 ERA in seven starts for the Royals. American League Central
The American League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed in the realignment of 1994 by moving three teams from the American League West and two teams from the American League East. Vin Mazzaro
Vincent Michael "Vin" Mazzaro (born September 27, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Sussex County Miners of the Frontier League. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants. Early years Mazzaro grew up in Rutherford, New Jersey, and attended Rutherford High School, where he led the team to two consecutive state championships. Professional career Oakland Athletics Mazzaro was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the third round of the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft. In December 2008, Baseball America named Mazzaro the #8 prospect in Oakland's organization. Mazzaro made his major league debut on June 2, against the Chicago White Sox. Nathan Adcock (baseball)
Nathan Masler Adcock (born February 25, 1988) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers and Cincinnati Reds. High school Before playing professionally, Adcock attended North Hardin High School. Aaron James Crow (born November 10, 1986) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals. Early life Crow was born on November 10, 1986, in Topeka, Kansas to parents Kevin and Julie Crow. Fernando Rodney (born March 18, 1977) is a Dominican–American professional baseball pitcher for the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League. The 1975 Kansas City Royals season was their seventh in Major League Baseball.
