2010 Women's European Volleyball League
The 2010 Women's European Volleyball League was the second edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament, played by eight European countries from June 5 to July 18, 2010. The final Four were held in Ankara, Turkey, on July 24 and 25. Strashimira Filipova
Strashimira Filipova (Bulgarian Cyrillic: Страшимира Филипова) (born August 18, 1985) is a Bulgarian volleyball player. She represented the Bulgaria national team at the 2005 Women’s European Volleyball Championship, which marked her debut for the national side. Career Her youth years were spent with VC CSKA Sofia and she played for their senior team (2001-2003, 2004-2005). She has also donned the colours of the Slavia Sofia volleyball team (2003-2004). Filipova is also a former member of the RC Cannes team. Filipova initially focused on the high jump, but switched to volleyball when she was in grade 9. In 2009, she was part of the squad that finished in third place at the 2009 Women's European Volleyball League. Filipova was a key member of the Bulgarian team that won a bronze medal at the 2011 Women's European Volleyball League. Jelena Nikolić
Jelena Nikolić ( sr-cyrl, Јелена Николић; born 13 April 1982) is a retired Serbian volleyball player, playing as a wing-spiker. She was a member of the Women's National Team that won the silver medal at the 2007 European Championship in Belgium and Luxembourg. Career She played for VakıfBank Güneş Sigorta Türk Telekom in Turkey from 2008/2010. With this team Jelena win the 2010–11 CEV Champions League and also winning the "Best Scorer" award. Maja Ognjenović
Maja Ognjenović ( sr-cyrl, Маја Огњеновић; born 6 August 1984) is a Serbian volleyball player and the captain of the Serbia women's national volleyball team. With the national team, she won the gold medal at the 2011 European Championship, silver medal at the 2007 European Championship, bronze medal at the 2006 World Championship. She won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. In 2018, she has won the gold medal at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. Eda Erdem
Eda Erdem Dündar (, born Eda Erdem; 22 June 1987) is a Turkish professional volleyball player. She currently plays for both Fenerbahçe SK and the national team and is the captain of both teams. Career Eda Erdem has been playing for Fenerbahçe with jersey number 14 since 2008. Before she joined Fenerbahçe, she had played for Beşiktaş for 4 years (2004–2008). She played more than 300 times for the Turkish national team. In Doha, Qatar, Eda won the 2010 FIVB World Club Championship, playing with Fenerbahçe and earned the ''Best Server'' award. The Women's European Volleyball League is a continental volleyball competition for senior women's national volleyball teams of Europe, organized by the European Volleyball Confederation ( CEV). Created in 2009, the competition served as a qualifying tournament for the FIVB World Grand Prix (until 2016) and its successor the FIVB Challenger Cup since 2018. Jovana Brakočević Canzian ( sr-cyrl, Јована Бракочевић Канцијан; born 5 March 1988) is a Serbian volleyball player, who was a member of the Serbia women's national volleyball team that won the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and also the silver medal at the 2007 European Championship in Belgium and Luxembourg. Neslihan Darnel
Neslihan Demir (born 9 December 1983) is a retired Turkish volleyball star. She is one of the most successful athletes of Turkey and has been among FIVB Heroes. She represented her country as the flag bearer at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the official advertisement face of Turkey for the 2020 Summer Olympics candidateship along with basketballer Hedo Türkoğlu. She was a left-handed opposite hitter and won numerous individual awards in the international tournaments. She studied at Gazi University.
