2010 SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge Season
The 2010 SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge was the 21st season of the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge. It was the first season since 1998 without the sponsorship of television channel Speed (TV channel), Speed. The series returned to a combined-class race with GT, GTS, and TC racing simultaneously. The last season for combined classes was 1996, also the last year in which the series had more than two classes. There are three classes in the championship in 2010, as opposed to two in 2009 Speed World Challenge season, 2009. The top GT class remains the same, but the TC class has been changed to only allow more cost-effective racecars closer in spirit to the SCCA's improved touring classes. The rules were originally introduced during the 2009 season as the TC2 class within the touring car category. SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge
The GT World Challenge America is a North American auto racing series launched in 1990 by the Sports Car Club of America. It has been managed by the Stephane Ratel Organisation since 2018, and has been sanctioned by the United States Auto Club since 2017. The series consists of four driver classifications and five classes of vehicles: GT3, GT4, (Sprint, SprintX, East and West), and Touring Car, consisting of TCR homologated cars, as well as separate TC and TCA classes featuring modified production vehicles, such as the BMW M235iR and the Mazda MX-5 Cup car. Peter Cunningham (racing Driver)
Peter "P.D." Cunningham (born July 1, 1962) is an American race car driver and owner of RealTime R&L, Inc., based in Saukville, Wisconsin and currently competing in the Pirelli World Challenge GT Championship. His name and his team, RealTime Racing, have become synonymous with the Honda and Acura brands. Through 2013, he has claimed 91 professional race wins across 12 different North American road racing series and holds numerous World Challenge records. Early career Cunningham was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a recent high school graduate in June 1980, Cunningham happened upon an autocross, a driving contest held in a parking lot around a pylon-defined course against the clock. Randy Franklin Pobst (born June 26, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio), also known as "RFP" or "The Rocket," is an American race car driver and journalist for ''Motor Trend'' magazine. Active in the SCCA World Challenge GT series and the Grand American series' GT class, Pobst was the 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2010 SCCA World Challenge GT champion, the 1996 North American Touring Car Championship title winner, and the 2005, 2006 and 2007 SCCA World Challenge TC vice-champion. Acura TSX
The Acura TSX is a compact executive car manufactured by Honda and sold through its Acura division from 2003 to 2014.
