French Television
Television in France was introduced in 1931, when the first experimental broadcasts began. Colour television was introduced in October 1967 on La Deuxième Chaîne. Digital terrestrial television The digital terrestrial television platform was launched on 31 March 2005 after a short testing period. Like Freeview in the UK, it provides many new channels, as well as the current terrestrial television stations. Like the rest of Europe, France uses the DVB-T transmission technology. The 13 first digital free channels were launched on 31 March 2005. In October, 4 additional free channels were added: the 24h news channels BFM TV and I-Télé, the music and entertainment youth channel Europe 2 TV, and the free children channel Gulli, joint-venture between Lagardère Active and France Télévisions. Plus Belle La Vie
''Plus belle la vie'' (More beautiful life) is a French television soap opera based on an idea by Hubert Besson and characters created by Georges Desmouceaux, Bénédicte Achard, Magaly Richard-Serrano and Olivier Szulzynger. On air since 30 August 2004, it is currently shown on France 3 on Monday to Friday evenings at 8:15 p.m. The show began with 17 main actors and gained more later. On 11 July 2008, France 3 broadcast its 1000th episode, a milestone in French television. The series set a second record on 8 June 2012, airing its 2000th episode. On 22 April 2016, it broadcast its 3000th episode, and on 21 February 2020, its 4000th. Plot The series follows the daily lives of the inhabitants of "Le Mistral", a fictional neighbourhood in the Mediterranean port city of Marseille, where wealthy and less than wealthy families co-exist. Foot School TV
Foot School TV (formerly TFOU TV) was a French television channel. It was originally launched as TFOU TV by TF1 on 23 April 2003, and was available on multichannel television platforms like TPS, Orange TV OTV ( ar, أو تي في, launched in 2007) is a publicly traded television station in Lebanon, connected to the Free Patriotic Movement political party (التيار اللوطني الحر). It is nicknamed 'Orange TV' due to its orange logo ..., Club Internet and Freebox TV. On 29 February 2008, the channel was relaunched as Foot School TV, before it was shutdown in 2013. OCS (TV Channel)
OCS, or previously known as Orange Cinéma Séries, is a group of French pay television networks dedicated to films and series owned and operated by Orange S.A. The channels launched on November 13, 2008 as part of the company's new direct-to-home satellite service and was exclusive to Orange TV. OCS is composed of three channels and a streaming service. OCS broadcast almost all their series in English with French subtitles in simulcast with the American broadcasting, but they also broadcast series dubbed in French or French series. From November 2008 to December 2022, OCS was holding the French rights to HBO production. Since 2012, OCS TV package is now available from Bouygues Telecom, CanalSat, Numericable, Orange TV, SFR and Tahiti Nui Satellite. Cap 24 was a French regional television channel, available in Paris and Île-de-France region, broadcasting from the Eiffel Tower. It began broadcasting on 20 March 2008. CStar () is a private national French TV channel, owned by Canal+ Group. History D17 was launched on 7 October 2012, replacing Direct Star, after Canal+ bought it to Bolloré Group. D17 was rebranded CStar on 5 September 2016. Since 27 February 2018, a sister channel named CStar Hits France is available exclusively on Canal+ channel 180, airing only French music clips. ''Sous le soleil'' (''Under the sun''; ) is a French soap opera broadcast on French major channel TF1 from 1996 to 2008. A spin-off, ''Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez'' has been broadcast in French channel TMC since 2013. Broadcast It has been a success in many countries, particularly in Latin America, France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovakia, Russia, Turkey and Poland. ''Secret Story'' is the original French version of the reality show ''Secret Story''. The show inherits more or less the fundamental principles of '' Big Brother'', a reality show created by producer John de Mol in 1997. 30 millions d'amis (English: "30 million friends") is a French television program, a French monthly magazine with its posters, and a French foundation: the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis. All three focus on pets, especially cats, dogs, horses, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice, canaries, parakeets, parrots, terrarium reptiles, goldfish, aquarium fish, and other exotic pets, but also wild animals like for example, bonobos and cheetahs. Television program The first episode of the program, initiative of the French journalist Jean-Pierre Hutin, who was worried about the fate of pets, was broadcast on 6 January 1976 on TF1. Quentin Mosimann
Quentin Gérard John Mosimann (; born 14 February 1988 in Geneva) is a Swiss DJ and record producer. He has been ranked in the top 100 of the best disc jockeys for four consecutive years by ', ranking 93rd in 2015. Quentin Mosimann took up his DJ career in the south of France, in Saint-Tropez when he was only 14. At age of 20, he won the French TV reality show Star Academy, and gained success with 2 albums in Universal Music ('Duel' & 'Exhibition') and a tour featuring a show at the famous Olympia of Paris. ''Présence protestante'' is a France 2 religious programme that presents Protestant Christianity. It has been produced since the 1950s broadcast every Sunday morning since October 9, 1955. History Présence protestante debuted on October 2, 1955 which was presented by Marcel Gosselin, under the leadership of Marc Boegner who was the president of the Protestant Federation of France. It was broadcast RTF, it was originally titled Émission protestante, then it renamed the Présence protestante based on a similar french-speaking Swiss program.
