This page provides the summaries of the CONCACAF Second Round matches for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification. The 14 top-ranked teams from the FIFA ranking for CONCACAF in May 2007 competed, along with the 10 winning teams from the First Round. There were 94 goals scored in 24 matches, for an average of 3.92 goals per match. Format In this round 12 of the remaining 24 teams would be eliminated. There were 12 ties and the winners advanced to the next round. All games were scheduled to be played in home and away format. 2006 FIFA World Cup Qualification
The 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification competition was a series of tournaments organised by the six FIFA confederations. Each confederation – the AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean), CONMEBOL (South America), OFC (Oceania), and UEFA (Europe) – was allocated a certain number of the 32 places at the tournament. A total of 197 teams entered the qualification process for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In 2001 FIFA ended automatic qualification of the reigning champion, so that 2002 champions Brazil became first to participate in the qualifying tournament. The hosts (Germany) retained their automatic spot. The original distribution of places between the six confederations called for Oceania to be given one full spot in the final 32; this idea was seen as virtually guaranteeing a place in the finals to Australia, by far the strongest footballing nation in the region. Víctor Velásquez
Víctor Manuel Velásquez Molina (born April 12, 1976) is a retired Salvadoran football player. Club career Velásquez started his career at Dragón in 1996 and left them after five years for Salvadoran giants FAS with whom he won five league titles. After another five years he moved to Alianza, only to join Águila in 2008. He then had a one-year spell with Municipal Limeño and rejoined FAS for a final season before retiring. International career Velásquez made his debut for El Salvador in a May 1999 friendly match against Colombia and has earned a total of 54 caps, scoring 4 goals. Peguero Jean Philippe (born 29 September 1981), also known as Jean Philippe Peguero is a Haitian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Peguero began his career with Haitian club Don Bosco FC, with whom he won the 2003 haitian League, and was named MVP and received the Golden Boot Award with 13 goals. He moved to Major League Soccer in March 2004 to play for Colorado Rapids. Peguero finished his first season with the Rapids with seven goals and four assists in 18 games. Bermuda National Sports Centre is a multi-purpose sports complex in Devonshire Parish, Bermuda, just to the east of the capital, Hamilton. The stadium was built on what was once a field used as a parade and sporting ground within Prospect Camp. Alfredo Pacheco
Alfredo Alberto Pacheco (December 1, 1982 – December 27, 2015) was a Salvadoran footballer who had the record for most appearances on the El Salvador national football team when he was banned for life in 2013, for match-fixing while playing for the national team. He was murdered on December 27, 2015. Career Club Pacheco spent the majority of his career with one of El Salvador's biggest clubs, FAS. After moving through the junior ranks and into the first team reserves, he was given his first chance to play in the Salvadoran Primera División in 2001.
