2000 Carolina Panthers Season
The 2000 season was the Carolina Panthers' sixth in the National Football League (NFL) and their second under head coach George Seifert. They failed to improve upon their 8–8 record in 1999 and make it to the playoffs for the second time in franchise history, dropping by one game from 8–8 to 7–9, however, the Panthers finished third in the division, behind the playoff-bound St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints. For the first time since 1985 DE Reggie White failed to reach the Pro Bowl. Offseason NFL Draft The 2000 NFL Draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 15 and April 16, 2000. NFC West
The National Football Conference - Western Division or NFC West is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It currently has four members: the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Guard (gridiron Football)
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. Jeno James
Jenorris "Jeno" James (born January 12, 1977) is a former American football offensive guard who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Auburn University. High school career James started on both the offensive and defensive lines for three seasons at Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama. As a senior, was an all-state selection as an offensive lineman. College career James started all 47 games for the Auburn Tigers over his four-year career (1996–99), including the final three seasons at left tackle. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Alvin Jerome McKinley (born June 9, 1978) is a former American football defensive tackle. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fourth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He played college football at Mississippi State. McKinley has also played for the Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints.
