2024 Alberta Municipal Censuses
The Canadian state of Alberta has provincial legislation allowing its municipalities to conduct municipal censuses. Municipalities choose to conduct their own censuses for multiple reasons such as to better inform municipal service planning and provision or to simply update their populations since the last federal census. Alberta began the year of 2024 with 342 municipalities. Of these, 24 notified Alberta Municipal Affairs of their intentions to conduct a municipal census in 2024, including at least five cities, nine towns, one village, two specialized municipalities, and two municipal districts. Airdrie ( ) is a city in Alberta, Canada, within the Calgary Region and the Calgary Metropolitan Area, It is located north of Calgary within the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2) and Highway 567. Mackenzie County is a specialized municipality in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located in Census Division 17, along the Mackenzie Highway. The municipal office is located in the hamlet of Fort Vermilion. Fort Saskatchewan
Fort Saskatchewan is a city along the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta, Canada. It is northeast of Edmonton, the provincial capital. Crossfield, Alberta
Crossfield is a town in the Calgary Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada, that is surrounded by Rocky View County. It is on Highway 2A north of the City of Calgary. As a station on the Calgary and Edmonton Railway (C&E) (leased and operated by the Canadian Pacific Railway), Crossfield was founded in 1892. Crossfield was named after an engineer with the C&E survey crew. By 1904, the community had a post office, a general store, a hotel and a school.
