2023 Spikers' Turf Open Conference
The 2023 Spikers' Turf Open Conference was the sixteenth conference and the start of the 2023 Spikers' Turf season, sixth season of the Spikers' Turf. The tournament began on January 22, 2023, with a total of eleven teams, including four new teams at the Paco Arena, Paco, Manila. This is the first conference of the league to use a Video Challenge. Dante Alinsunurin is a Filipino volleyball coach. Career NU Bulldogs The NU Bulldogs won five straight UAAP titles under Alinsunurin, their long-time head coach. He has coached in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, mentoring the National University (NU) Bulldogs men's volleyball team which won back-to-back titles over FEU in 2019 and Ateneo in 2018. The Bulldogs, under his watch, also took part at the 2018 ASEAN University Games in Myanmar and clinched a gold medal for the Philippines. Esmilzo Joner "Ish" Polvorosa (born March 22, 1997) is a Filipino volleyball player who plays currently for Criss Cross King Crunchers in the Spikers' Turf and for the Philippine national team. Personal life Polvorosa was born and raised in Imus, Cavite. He graduated as second honorable mention at Anabu II Elementary School and studied middle school at Unida Christian Colleges. He took up AB European Studies at Ateneo de Manila University where he played in the Ateneo Blue Eagles volleyball team. He joined the Cignal HD Spikers in 2017. In 2018, he was elected as SK Chairman for Barangay Anabu 2-B in Imus, Cavite. Polvorosa is also a member of the LGBTQ community.
