2023 Japan Women's Open
The 2023 Japan Women's Open (also known as the Kinoshita Group Japan Open for sponsorship purposes) was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the twelfth edition of the Japan Women's Open, and part of the WTA 250 tournaments of the 2023 WTA Tour. It was held at the Utsubo Tennis Center in Osaka, Japan, from 11 to 17 September 2023. This was the first edition of the tournament since 2019, when it was held in Hiroshima. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, while the 2022 edition was cancelled for financial reasons. Champions Singles * Ashlyn Krueger def. WTA 250 Tournaments
WTA 250 is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International tournaments, WTA International Tournaments. At their introduction in 2021, WTA 250 tournaments' prize money was approximately $250,000. As of 2025 WTA Tour, 2025 season, this has risen to $275,094. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 250. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournament ("Major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, 1000 points for winning a WTA 1000 tournament, and 500 for winning a WTA 500 tournament. Wang Xinyu
Wang Xinyu (, ; born 26 September 2001) is a Chinese professional tennis player. Wang reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 32 on 9 October 2023, and set a doubles ranking of No. 16 on 20 May 2024. Partnering with Hsieh Su-wei, she won the women's doubles title at the 2023 French Open. She also won a silver medal in mixed doubles, alongside Zhang Zhizhen at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Personal life Wang was born in Shenzhen, Guangdong. Her father, Wang Peng (born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang), is a former head coach of the Shenzhen tennis team and the China Fed Cup team, Chinese women's national tennis team, but resigned from the latter to concentrate on his daughter's tennis career. Valeria Dmitrievna Savinykh (; born 20 February 1991) is a Russian tennis player. In April 2012, she achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 99. is a Japanese tennis player. Sakatsume has a career-high singles ranking by the WTA of 164, achieved on 12 June 2023, and a career-high WTA doubles ranking of 355, set on 3 March 2025. Ankita Raina
Ankita Raina (born 11 January 1993) is an Indian tennis player. Since 2018, she has regularly been India's number one female player in singles and doubles. Misaki Doi
is a Japanese former professional tennis player. Her highest WTA rankings are No. 30 in singles and No. 77 in doubles.
