2023 Enugu State Gubernatorial Election
The 2023 Enugu State gubernatorial election took place on 18th March 2023, to elect the Governor of Enugu State, concurrent with 2023 Enugu State House of Assembly election, elections to the Enugu State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections, gubernatorial elections and 2023 Nigerian state legislative elections, elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election — which was postponed from its original 11 March date — was held three weeks after the 2023 Nigerian presidential election, presidential election and 2023 Nigerian elections#National Assembly elections, National Assembly elections. Nkanu East is a Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria, bordering Ebonyi State to the east. Its headquarter is located in the town of Amagunze. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is a political party in Nigeria. Electoral history At the legislative elections held on 12 April 2003, the party won 1.4% of popular votes and 2 of 360 seats in the House of Representatives of Nigeria but no seats in the Senate. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Founded on 6 February 2013 from a merger of Nigeria's three largest opposition parties, the party came to power following the victory of party candidate Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 presidential election.
