2022 Russian Figure Skating Championships
The 2022 Russian Figure Skating Championships () were held from 21 to 26 December 2021 in Saint Petersburg. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The results were among the criteria used to select Russia's teams to the 2022 European Championships and 2022 Winter Olympics. Kamila Valieva was stripped of her gold medal in Senior Women's singles after testing positive for Trimetazidine, a banned substance, on the second day of the Women's competition. Subsequently, Alexandra Trusova became the gold medalist, with Anna Shcherbakova moving up to silver and Adeliia Petrosian receiving the bronze medal. Dario Cirisano
Dario Cirisano (, born 12 June 2001) is a Russian ice dancer of Italian descent. With his former skating partner, Irina Khavronina, he is the 2020 Youth Olympic champion and 2022 Russian junior champion. Personal life Cirisano was born on 12 June 2001 in Crotone, Italy, but moved to St. Petersburg in 2006. His father, Benito, is Italian, and he has an older sister, Valeria. Anna Stanislavovna Shcherbakova (Russian language, Russian: Анна Станиславовна Щербакова, born 28 March 2004) is a Russian figure skater. She is the reigning Figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics, Olympic champion in Single skating, women's singles, the 2021 World Figure Skating Championships, 2021 World champion, the 2022 European Figure Skating Championships, 2022 European champion, and a three-time Russian Figure Skating Championships, Russian national champion (2019–2021). Trimetazidine (IUPAC: 1-(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzyl)piperazine) is a drug sold under many brand names for angina pectoris (chest pain associated with impaired blood flow to the heart). Kamila Valeryevna Valieva ( ; born 26 April 2006) is a Russian figure skater. She is the 2021 Rostelecom Cup champion, the 2021 Skate Canada champion, the 2020 Junior World champion, the 2019-20 Junior Grand Prix Final champion and the 2021 Russian national silver medalist. During the 2022 Winter Olympics a sample that Valieva had submitted for a drug test in December tested positive for trimetazidine. 2022 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2022 European Figure Skating Championships were held from 10 to 16 January 2022 at the Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn, Estonia. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2023 European Championships. Tallinn was announced as the host in June 2019. The city had previously hosted the competition in 2010.
