2022 Queen's Birthday Honours (Australia)
The 2022 Queen's Birthday Honours for Australia were announced on 13 June 2022 by the Governor-General, David Hurley. The Birthday Honours are appointments by some of the 15 Commonwealth realms of Queen Elizabeth II to various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by citizens of those countries. Will Alstergren
Edvard William Alstergren (born 12 April 1962), commonly known as Will Alstergren, is an Australian jurist who has held the positions of Chief Justice of the Family Court of Australia since 10 December 2018, and Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia since 13 October 2017. Ray Lawler
Raymond Evenor Lawler (23 May 1921 – 24 July 2024) was an Australian playwright and dramatist, actor, theatre producer and director. Lawler's most notable play was his tenth, '' Summer of the Seventeenth Doll'' (1953), which had its premiere in Melbourne in 1955. The play was notable for changing the direction of Australian drama, considered one of the greatest of the 20th century, it was adapted to a film in 1959, starring Angela Lansbury and Ernest Borgnine. The story of ''The Doll'' is preceded by ''Kid's Stakes'', set in 1937, when the characters of ''The Doll'' are young adults, and then ''Other Times'', which is set in 1945 and includes most of the same characters. Marnie Hughes-Warrington
Marnie Hughes-Warrington is an Australian academic who currently serves as professor of history at the University of South Australia, where she has also served since 2020 as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise). She previously worked at the Australian National University. Her areas of expertise are the philosophy of history, historiography, and world history. Warren Ewens
Warren John Ewens (born 23 January 1937 in Canberra) is an Australian-born mathematician who has been Professor of Biology at the University of Pennsylvania since 1997. (He also held that position 1972–1977.) He concentrates his research on the mathematical, statistical and theoretical aspects of population genetics. Ewens has worked in mathematical population genetics, computational biology, and evolutionary population genetics. He introduced Ewens's sampling formula. Joseph de Bruyn (born 10 September 1949) is an Australian trade union official. He is the former National President of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association (SDA) and a former member of the National Executive of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). Peter Fook Meng Choong is an Australian doctor and professor who specializes in orthopaedics. He is the Director of Orthopaedics at St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne and the Hugh Devine Chair of Surgery at the University of Melbourne.
