2022 New York Gubernatorial Election
The 2022 New York gubernatorial election took place on November 8, 2022 to elect the Governor of New York, governor and Lieutenant Governor of New York, lieutenant governor of New York (state), New York. Kathy Hochul had ascended to the governorship in August 2021 upon Andrew Cuomo's resignation following Andrew Cuomo sexual harassment allegations, allegations of sexual harassment. Hochul sought a full term as governor. She appointed Brian Benjamin to the position of lieutenant governor and planned to run alongside him until he too resigned in April 2022. U.S. Rep. Antonio Delgado was appointed to replace Benjamin as lieutenant governor. Andrew Cuomo
Andrew Mark Cuomo ( , ; born December 6, 1957) is an American politician and lawyer who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 until his resignation in 2021. Thomas Richard Suozzi ( ; born August 31, 1962) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for New York's 3rd congressional district since 2024 and previously from 2017 to 2023.
