2021–22 FC Rostov Season
The 2021–22 season was FC Rostov's 92nd season in existence and the club's 13th consecutive season in the top flight of Football in Russia, Russian football. In addition to the 2021–22 Russian Premier League, domestic league, Rostov participated in this season's editions of the 2021–22 Russian Cup, Russian Cup. Season events On 18 May, Rostov announced the signing of Kirill Bozhenov from FC Khimki, Khimki on a five-year contract. On 5 June, Rostov announced the signing of Danila Prokhin from FC Zenit Saint Petersburg, Zenit St.Petersburg and then imeditaly loaned him out to PFC Sochi, Sochi for the season. On 10 June, Rostov announced the permanent signing of Ali Sowe from PFC CSKA Sofia, CSKA Sofia on a contract until 2025 following a successful loan spell. FC Rostov () is a Russian professionalism in association football, professional football club based in Rostov-on-Don. The club competes in the Russian Premier League, playing their home matches at the Rostov Arena. History Soviet era (1930-1991) The club was established on 10 May 1930, and was initially named Selmashstroy (Сельмашстрой). They were renamed Selmash in 1936 and Traktor in 1941. In 1950, the club joined the South Zone of the Azov-Don group of the Russian SFSR Championship. The following season they were placed in Group B of the championship. Kirill Viktorovich Bozhenov (; born 7 December 2000) is a Russian football player. His primary position is right midfielder or right winger, he also played right back in the past. Vadim Olegovich Lukyanov (; born 16 December 2002) is a Russian football player who plays as a goalkeeper for Pari Nizhny Novgorod. Bartolomeu Jacinto Quissanga (born 27 March 1991), known as Bastos, is an Angolan professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Botafogo. Yury Pavlovich Syomin (; born 11 May 1947) is a Russian football coach. He has managed FC Lokomotiv Moscow for 4 different stints, for a total of over 23 years.
