2021 W Series Budapest Round
The 2021 W Series Budapest round was the fourth round of seven in the 2021 W Series, and took place at the Hungaroring in Budapest on 31 July 2021. The event was an undercard to the 2021 Formula One World Championship round at the same circuit. Report Background Caitlin Wood replaced Abbi Pulling in the Puma W Series Team. Alice Powell led the championship on 54 points, 6 points ahead of Jamie Chadwick. Race Chadwick stormed away from pole position to take a commanding lead into the first corner, while Irina Sidorkova hung around the outside of Beitske Visser to take fourth. Further back, Ayla Ågren and Fabienne Wohlwend ran wide – the Norwegian slowed suddenly and caused Wohlwend to hit the back of her car, launch into the air and broke her front wing in the process, requiring a pit-stop. 2021 W Series
The 2021 W Series was the second season of the W Series (championship), W Series motor racing championship, replacing the 2020 season after it was cancelled due of the COVID-19 pandemic. The championship was exclusively open to List of female racing drivers, female racing drivers as a Formula Three, Formula 3-level racing series in support of the 2021 Formula One World Championship. Jamie Chadwick entered the season as the defending W Series champion, having won the title in 2019 W Series, 2019. Chadwick secured her second consecutive championship, winning the 2021 title at the season finale race, at Circuit of the Americas. Fabienne Wohlwend
Fabienne Wohlwend (born 7 November 1997 in Vaduz) is a female racing driver from Liechtenstein who competes in the W Series. Biography Formula 4 Wohlwend entered car racing in 2016, having been successful in junior karting in Liechtenstein and Switzerland. She debuted in the Italian F4 Championship with Aragón Racing, before a mid-season switch to DR Formula. She failed to qualify for the final at the first round in Misano (the series ran a unique format for said round after 41 cars entered a circuit with a capacity of 36) and, after the qualifying race system was abandoned, did not score any points during the course of the season - her best finish being an 11th place in the final race of the season at Monza. Vittoria "Vicky" Piria (born 11 November 1993 in Milan) is an Italian-British racing driver who currently races in Formula Renault Eurocup and W Series. Career Karting Piria grew up in Perugia in Umbria, she began karting in 2003 and raced primarily in her native Italy for the majority of this part of her career, working her way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the KF3 category by 2008. Jessica Hawkins (born 16 February 1995 in Headley, East Hampshire) is a British racing driver and stunt driver from East Hampshire, England. She currently competes in the W Series, as well as the British Touring Car Championship. Biography Hawkins made her professional motorsport début in British Formula Ford at Silverstone, in a one-off event where she twice finished inside the top ten. Her strong rookie performance saw her being picked up by Falcon Motorsport to contest the 2015 MSA Formula Championship. ''The Grand Tour'' is a British motoring television series, created by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and Andy Wilman, made for Amazon exclusively for its online streaming service Amazon Prime Video, and premiered on 18 November 2016. Abigail Eaton (born 2 January 1992) is a British racing driver from the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. is a Japanese people, Japanese List of female racing drivers, female racing driver. Sabré Cook (born May 21, 1994 in Grand Junction, Colorado) is an American female racing driver and mechanical engineer. She has previously competed in the W Series. Biography Cook started her professional motorsport career with an invitation into the 2017 SCCA National Championship Runoffs event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, finishing ninth in the Formula Enterprise class. She would step up to American entry level formula in 2018, running partial campaigns in both U.S.F2000 and Formula 4. Bruna Alberti Tomaselli (born 18 September 1997 in Caibi) is a Brazilian female racing driver. She currently competes in the W Series. Biography Tomaselli began her professional career in Fórmula Junior Brasil, a category comparable to Formula Ford in other countries. Following two seasons there, she would move up to Fórmula 4 Sudamericana, run to Formula Renault 1.6 regulations – where she finished fourth in her second season.
