2016 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2016 Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball tournament was held March 4–7, 2016 at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The champion, UNC Wilmington, received an automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA tournament. Seeds All 10 conference teams were eligible for the tournament. The top 6 seeds received a bye to the Quarterfinals. Teams were seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Royal Farms Arena
CFG Bank Arena (originally the Baltimore Civic Center and formerly Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore Arena and 1st Mariner Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Baltimore, Maryland. This venue is located about one block away from the Baltimore Convention Center on the corner of Baltimore Street and Hopkins Place and also only a short distance from the Inner Harbor. With a seating capacity of 14,000 for concerts, CFG Bank Arena is owned by the City of Baltimore and managed by the Oak View Group, a global sports and entertainment company. It officially opened on October 23, 1962. Designed by AG Odell Jr. and Associates, it was built on the site of Old Congress Hall, where the Continental Congress met in 1776. The Coastal Athletic Association men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the Coastal Athletic Association (formerly known as the Colonial Athletic Association). The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA's NCAA Division I, Division I whose full members are located in East Coast states from Massachusetts to South Carolina. Most of its members are State university system, public universities, and the conference is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, Richmond. The 2015–16 Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens men's basketball team represented the University of Delaware during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Fightin' Blue Hens, led by ninth year head coach Monté Ross, played their home games at the Bob Carpenter Center and were members of the Colonial Athletic Association.
