Régis Labeaume
Régis Labeaume (; born May 2, 1956) is a Canadian businessman, writer and politician. He served as mayor of Quebec City from 2007 to 2021. He was first elected on December 2, 2007 after the death of former mayor Andrée Boucher. He was reelected in 2009, 2013, and 2017. Early life Labeaume holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the Université Laval. Prior to being mayor, Labeaume was a local businessman and chair of the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship organisation since 2003 and worked primarily in the mining industry. He was previously the political adviser of former Communications Minister and former Parti Québécois MNA of the riding of Vanier, Jean-François Bertrand from 1980 to 1983. Bernard Sévigny
Bernard Sévigny (born December 18, 1961) is a Canadian politician, who was mayor of Sherbrooke, Quebec from 2009 to 2017. Education Sévigny has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French from the University of Alberta. He has a certificate in information and journalism from the Université de Montréal. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics, as well as a Master's degree in the management and development of co-operatives, and a doctor of business administration from the Université de Sherbrooke. Magog, Quebec
Magog ( , ) is a city in southeastern Quebec, Canada, about east of Montreal at the confluence of Lake Memphremagog—after which the city was named—with the Rivière aux Cerises and the Magog River. It is a major centre and industrial city in the Regional County Municipality of Memphremagog. The city lies in the Eastern Townships tourist region. In 2002, the City of Magog was merged with the Township of Magog and the Village of Omerville as part of the municipal reorganization in Quebec. Etymology "Memphremagog" comes from the Abenaki word '' mamhlawbagak'', which means "large expanse of water" or "vast lake." "Magog" is believed to be a truncation of the lake's name. Coaticook, Quebec
Coaticook ( , ) is a town on the Coaticook River, located in southeastern Quebec, Canada. It resides in the region of Estrie, which is often referred to colloquially as the Eastern Townships. It is the seat of the Coaticook Regional County Municipality, and its southern border is also the Canada–United States border. The town of Coaticook was initially settled in the 1820s by British Loyalists coming from New England. The town was incorporated in 1864, and the municipalities of Barnston Township and Barford Township were later merged into Coaticook on December 12, 1998. Estrie () is an List of Quebec regions, administrative region of Quebec that comprises the Eastern Townships. ''Estrie'', a French neologism, was coined as a derivative of ''est'', "east". Originally settled by anglophones, today it is about 90 per cent francophone. Anglophones are concentrated in Lennoxville, Quebec, Lennoxville, home of the region's only English-speaking university, Bishop's University. Yves Lévesque
Yves Lévesque (; born 1957) is a Canadian politician who served as Mayor of Trois-Rivières between 2001 and 2018. Career City Councillor Lévesque won his first electoral victory in 1994, when he became city councillor in Trois-Rivières-Ouest. He was re-elected in 1998. Mayor of Trois-Rivières In the wake of the province-wide municipal merging of 2001, he ran for Mayor of Trois-Rivières and won an upset victory against favourite candidate and Cap-de-la-Madeleine Mayor Alain Croteau.
