2013 Dasmariñas Local Elections
Local elections were held in the city of Dasmariñas on May 13, 2013 together with the national and provincial level elections. Since Dasmariñas is a component city in the province of Cavite, it may elect a provincial official despite its own representation in the congress. Background Since 1998, Barzagas have dominated in the elections. Their allies have also won several positions in the city/municipal council. In 2010, the Barzagas were members of Lakas-Kampi-CMD supporting Gilbert Teodoro, who lost to Benigno Aquino III of the Liberal Party. When the 15th Congress of the Philippines started, Pidi became a member of the majority group of Feliciano Belmonte. The following year his faction from Lakas-Kampi established the new party, National Unity Party. Jennifer Barzaga
Jennifer "Jenny" Narvaez Austria-Barzaga (born September 22, 1975) is a Filipino politician who has been the Mayor of the City of Dasmariñas since 2019 and had previously held this position from 2007 until 2016. Early life and education Barzaga born on September 22, 1975, to Nicanor Austria and Anician Narvaez. She educated elementary at the Dasmariñas Bagong Bayan Elementary School-C. She was placed Best in Math at the time. She later studied secondary at the Immaculate Conception Academy, and tertiary and graduated at the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas. Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Catibayan Remulla Jr. (; born October 23, 1967) is a Filipino politician who had served as the 42nd secretary of the interior and local government since 2024. He previously served as the 31st governor of Cavite from 2019 to 2024 and from 2010 to 2016, and had previously served as vice governor and as a member of the Cavite Provincial Board. He is a son of former governor Juanito Remulla Sr. and sibling of fellow politicians Gilbert and Jesus Crispin Remulla. Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Antonio Alandy Ferrer (born November 10, 1966), also known as "Ony" Ferrer, is the current congressman of the 6th district of the Province of Cavite and a former mayor of General Trias.
