2001 Men's Hockey Champions Challenge
The 2001 Men's Hockey Champions Challenge took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 7 to 15 December 2001. This was the inaugural tournament under introduced by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to broaden hockey's competitive base globally. Participating nations were Argentina, Belgium, host Malaysia, India, Japan, and South Africa. The winner earned a spot at the 2002 Champions Trophy in Cologne, Germany. Goalkeeper (field Hockey)
Field hockey (or simply referred to as hockey in some countries where ice hockey is not popular) is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. Teams must move a hockey ball around a field by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, although grass has become increasingly rare as a playing surface. Tomás MacCormik (born June 7, 1978 in Buenos Aires) is a field hockey midfielder from Argentina. MacCormik began playing hockey at age seven.
