2000 Rugby League World Cup
The 2000 Rugby League World Cup was the twelfth Rugby League World Cup, World Cup for men’s national rugby league teams, held between 28 October and 25 November and hosted between the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Ireland and France. Australia won their ninth title by beating New Zealand 40-12 in the final at Old Trafford. Following the success of the previous tournament, the World Cup was expanded to 16 teams and for the first time featured qualification rounds before the finals. Alongside the men's tournament, it was also the same year when the inaugural Women's Rugby League World Cup was first played. Mat Rogers
Mathew Steve Rogers (born 1 February 1976) is an Australian former professional rugby league and rugby union footballer who played in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. He played both codes at the highest level, becoming a dual-code international. He is currently a rugby union commentator on Stan Sport. Brad Fittler
Bradley Scott Fittler (born 5 February 1972), also known by the nickname of "Freddy", is an Australian rugby league commentator, television presenter, and former player. Fittler captained both New South Wales rugby league team, New South Wales and Australian Kangaroos, Australia, and in 2000 was awarded the Rugby League World Golden Boot Awards, Golden Boot. Darren Maroon (born 4 May 1966) is a former Lebanon international rugby league footballer who represented Lebanon at the 2000 World Cup. Don Furner
Don Furner (26 December 1932 – 24 February 2020) was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach. As a player, he represented Queensland on nine occasions and also toured with the 1956–57 Kangaroos. He began his coaching career as a player-coach with Junee in 1964. That year, the team won their first Group 9 grand final as well as the Maher Cup. In 1965, he began coaching the Queanbeyan Blues, guiding that club to three successive Group 8 premierships (1965–67) and a further two Grand Finals (1968–69). He coached the Eastern Suburbs Roosters (1970–72), whom he took to the 1972 NSWRFL season's premiership final. Lote Daulako Tuqiri (born 23 September 1979) is a former professional dual-code rugby footballer who primarily played as a winger across both codes. He represented Australia in both rugby league and rugby union, and Fiji in rugby league. Andy Farrell
Andrew David Farrell (born 30 May 1975) is an English professional rugby union coach and former rugby league and rugby union player. Farrell has been head coach of the Ireland national team since 2019.
